hi...
Just wondering whether there is a 22" lcd widescreen with HDMI input?
Googled it and found only BenQ new model which is FP222W if I'm not mistaken and it is not available at Lowyat yet.

Faced the same prob with my earlier Dell 24 Ultrasharp. Called Dell and got replacement.
Satisfied with their service n support, bought another one during PC Fair offer for RM1999.

Bought the first one for RM3400.00 (include 3 yrs warranty, 24hrs) + sound bar + not so free, free gist - Linksys wireless AP.

2 months ago bought 2 Acer 22" entry level LCS for RM930.00 ea and compare side-by-side to the 24" Ultrasharp, hmmmmm not really noticable difference xcept the size and resolution.

For the money spent, IMHO the Acer gives more value.

Waaaah, good challenge here...!

Google S-IPS :
nothing that I undestand rclxub.gif

Google S-PVA :
nothing that I undestand rclxub.gif

Google TN :
nothing that I undestand rclxub.gif

Found some quotes saying about the brightness and banding? icon_question.gif . Aaaagh, another techie term.

Also found about "real output" using "professional monitor" and the text refers to video production output (I think related to the preview monitor like the Sony, Telefunken and Grundig used video editors)

AND really, I did not notice a major difference that should be reflected in the price difference (other than the size).

For knowledge sake, can u pls explain a bit about the difference ? (IMO this info is connoisseur's game).
Pls pls pls, I want to know.

Followed this thread to the end and LOL lagi rclxub.gif (this subject is really not for me !)

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp...essage=18204850 (this thread is...good and YUP, I really notice the issue as discussed in the thread and YES move your head and notice the tone changes. Problems with graphic artists and printers). Attached is the test image (copied from the thread) for anyone interested to test their LCD.

A quote from the thread
QUOTE
Move you head a bit while observing the 5% to 30% tones. They shift quite readily. This is only to show you what I am talking about. I witnessed it just about everywhere.

For photo editing I would think it a real issue if working with shadow detail. By simply moving the picture for the side of the screen to the center it goes from visible on the side to dark in the center.
I realize lots of people dont' notice and they are lucky. I wish I didn't.

Well newer tn quality nowdays aint as bad as before. Casual users wont able to differentiate the differences much between types of panel, unless by using viewing angle as tn do had lower viewing angle as compare to va n ips. But majority are sitting in front of lcd instead of moving around. With some tweaking through the osd menu, the quality of newer tn is actually not bad. Below is link where user in hardforum comparing the dell 2707 which used a va panel to a viewsonic vx2835wm which use a tn panel. There is also some photo shots both lcd and the user comment on both

Got a Dell 2707WFP & a Viewsonic VX2835WM For Testing

Guys, need some suggestion here.. i'm looking for 2 units of widescreen LCD @ 19" and 20". Particularly a widescreen LCD that has 1:1 pixel mapping feature and with precise color reproduction since it's mainly for picture and video editing.

any models to recommend?

Today went to Lowyat saw a Viewsonic 19" with memory card reader + USB slots & Ipod docking port at $760 while the 17" at $645. Need u guys/gals opinion on this Viewsonic brand. I prefer monitor with speakers as external speakers make my table look messy with cables. Any idea on other LCD monitor with speakers to recommend me? Mostly use it for office work & surf internet.. So with all the discussions about different LCD panels, any guide on which brand/model using which panel? Most manufacturers doesn't state.

It has been already discussed many times again and again. Please refer to LCD Panel Guide that has been posted by lonewolf long time ago.

Thanks!

Not sure if this had been posted. I found this site http://www.tftcentral.co.uk where we just need to key in the model and it will display the panel used. Not all models are included I think.
