Hello all,

My wife started to have some symptoms of eczema on both of her hands and started to have skin itchiness over the face.

Does anyone know any good clinics/doctors around Cheras for these kind of skin problems?

Thank you.

Not exactly Cheras, but still within KL.

A famous one is Dr Ting @ Jln Imbi

And also please read my previous reply to a forumer asking for recommendations on serious eczema of her baby niece. It may be caused by diet, hormone, and other health problems too.

This doctor's credentials looks suitable and in line with your nephew's problems:

Dr. Kent Woo Chee Keen

"He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He sees both pediatric and adult patients with allergic diseases. Special Interest : Asthma, Food Allergy, Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)"

As a layman, I look for doctors that take a holistic view, in this case his profile indicates an in-depth knowledge in food allergies, eczema, and experience with children.

Is this new to her? At the mean time, do try the following:
1. Avoid eating eggs, shrimps and prawns
2. Avoid eating spicy foods
3. Avoid heaty and stuffy area
4. Avoid or reduce activities that sweat a lot
5. Shower frequently with low temperature water
6. Change bed sheets, towel, curtain frequently or just keep your environment as clean as possible

at least these are what I do when my eczema strikes (off and on for 17 years already), without any medication, it will be gone automatically...

Why restrict yourself only to Cheras? Dr.Ting is a good skin specialist as recommended by a member.

If possible, don't go for Dr Kent Woo Chee Keen.

I had terrible experience there in the clinics of his own in Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur. He diagnosed my skin wrongly and gave me the wrong medicine in cream, causing my cheeks turning red, malar rash and itchiness. (I know he is specialized in eczema. Well, for me speaking the truth, the black spots on my body are my birthmarks, not eczema. How can birthmarks turns into eczema when i grew up?! For god sake! I was born with it! He is the first doctor i have ever met in my life and claimed that i have eczema. Serious! i have seen so many doctors in my life and he is the only one who said i have eczema! ) As a result, I chose to see another skin specialist instead.

2 weeks ago, when i visited him, he also asked me to come back 2 weeks later to get my blood test results. Okay, I took note and of course i went. Well, when i was there yesterday. i thought of just getting report from his nurses at the counter. But then they measured my blood pressure and then i was summoned into his room. i was asked to sit on the bed and what he did was flipped my under eyes and checked by using a touchlight, said "alright, nothing". After that he said "what you have might be contact dermatitis." looked at his nurse:"please explain to her". I was like OMG..... again.... he never make explanations himself.

After i came out, the nurses asked me to sit on the sofa to wait for a while. Then i was told to pay RM 105.00 for consultation fees! WTX! he didn't consult me please! and gave me the wrong cream! The Nurse then asked me with very bad attitude :"why don't you come back to us?!" I was shocked! Of course i would not choose to go back to you guys. Is my face!!! my look!!! if is my body, i can let you guys do experiment on a little spot my body! but hey! it's my face please, of course i will not let you guys to do experiment on my face! WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY FACE AGAIN?!

What ever i am thinking is the same to most of the ladies! Right?! mad.gif Never go back to him. Never in my life!

anyway, my face has recovered by seeing another skin specialist. smile.gif

If you're up for chinese medicine, search pusatrawatansengwoh on instagram. They are not based in KL but there is online consultation. I've had eczema since young, few years back I have very terrible outbreak, after i think about close to a month drinking the doctor medicine, the outbreak stable down. I think with tcm the concern is usage of steroid, i triple confirm with doctor there is no steroid and if there was, i would have reacted to it cause last time i went to another tcm they put steroid. The doctor got sell this cream, i feel its very effective to ease the itch, cause there is cooling effect.

If you still prefer face to face consultation. Can try Taipei TCM Medical centre, i have friends who went there, they said it helped them.. but i went there, personally it didn't helped me but a few friends recommended me to the same place and their eczema was cured.. So the doctor i went to is Prof. Dr. Chu .. My friends went for Dr Cash, maybe you want to try to consult Dr Cash instead.

How come my recommendation is Chinese medicine, because western medicine usually give you steroid cream or inflammation jab. I don't recommend to rely on steroid - you may read up on steroid withdrawal.

Good luck!
