How do u know it's the port on the controller and not the headset itself? If it's really the port, then try using it with your second controller (assuming you have one). Could be the headset that's faulty, in which case it's probably a good time to pick up the wireless headset.

Damn that Black elite would sure look swell next to my black PS3. Would get it in a heartbeat, but US-console means US or region free games only. And most of my games are Asian.

The black really isn't BLAAAACK like the PS3. Probably the matte finish doing its thing or just the lighting in those photos.
