Yes, it can detect. You just have to use Windows Media player to accept the device connection.

InLove, with your PC and Xbox 360 connected on your router. Turn both on. On the PC, start Windows Media Player 11, click Tools > Options > Library.

Then "Configure Sharing" - youll see your Xbox 360 device, just allow the sharing, and that's it.

Also, they aren't talking about overheating, they are talking about the new dashboard update causing modded Xbox's to get 3ROD

Could be many reasons, firewall on your router/PC ? If you XBox can be connected online via your router, and your PC can go online without any problems - then you should see it.

If you mean must it be Windows Media 11, yes. If you mean if there's another variant of Windows Media 11, no, the original one.
