It's the player not the connection, bro. The standalone player was running on older firmware, whereas the 360 has itself updated constanty everytime the 360 connects itself to Live. Even the AVSForum guys are admitting that the 360 addon would probaby be the most updated HD-DVD player in the market due to its constant connection to the net. Remember, standalone HD-DVD players now comes with Ethernet connection, because HD-DVDs with the right content will allow internet connection with interaction with the movie you're watching.

The same argument about keyboard/mouse thing also applies to FPSes on the 360, and do you hear any squeak of a complaint now? The LOTr:BFMEII was perfectly playable on the 360 and it is played using the 360 controller as well.

Guys, this is a community service notice, a simple heads up message. I have managed to secure the Auditorium at Mediaplex KLCC, for tomorrow's HD-DVD playtest .But this also presents a chance for those with Xbox 360s to try out your games(imagine Gears or War on 1080p via VGA, or 1080i via Component on 100in screen) on 1080p 100inch screen, at this Auditorium, and play your games at this resolution as well.

The initial plan was to just try out HD-DVD playback , but with this opportunity, you , the Xbox 360 owners, have the chance to see how the games awould look and play like on this state of the art facility. The only task need to be done is to bring along your 360 for this, as well as any other titles needed to play/watch on your 360. I. Too bad this only applies to US and Canadian Xbox 360.It was 90 days on the previous policy.

Regarding the HD-DVD thing, if you're concerned of the what-ifs, better dont buy. I dont want to turn this thread into another HD-DVD vs Bluray wittiness-fanboy thread that made me close the other thread, but frankly speaking HD-DVD will not go down easily. The interactiveness and features alone will secure its place in the format war, not to mention the overzealous fanboys. Me? I'd rather savor both sides of the plate, not just one.

There is a reason of course, on why MS includes King Kong with the HD-DVD bundle in the States, this movie is the best title to use to showcase the power of HD-DVD. For reference titles on both Bluray and HD-DVD, head to www.avsforum.com Go to the forum sections appropirate to the HD-DVD/Bluray and look at their Tier system for ranking the different movie titles released. So far, for HD-DVD, King Kong and The Hulk are the top tiered reference titles to showcase HD-DVD. Tokyo Drift is the title to get to showcase U-Control on HD-DVD.

Bear in mind that the HD-DVD addon does not have optical out, meaning for serious audiophiles there will be audio quality degradation since it goes through the USB connection to the 360. Even the optical connection of 360p has limitation, only able to process Dolby Digital Plus at the moment, while waiting for MS to realse software patches to enable DTS processing for it. This reported by the forum member "amir" in the AVSforum, as this member is with MS.

Played a short session of GOW on Live just now. IT takes slightly longer than usual to log in, once logged in, no problems.

That could eaither result in one of two things:-

Getting himself realised that he sucks and try his utmost best to compete at the same level;

OR

Quitting GoW altogether.



I assure you, he needs a little more guidance on the importance of cover, and covering his ass while giving chase to his prey. Most if not all the time, i got him sniped (head bursting moments), sprayed with shotgun pellets, and even nadetagged, both with smoke and the incindiery version. Playing team tonight can greatly improve his skills and teach more than basics, he would need that in lieu of tomorrow's match.
