There is a confirmed driver and / or passenger inside the car. Probability of death if crushed by engine would be almost absolute.

But if engine ejected out the probability to hit pedestrian or other car is much lower la.

That is why in SPM Physics 20 year ago we were taught that the engine would drop out from the vehicle in the event of collision to create crumple zone and to prevent occupants from being crushed.
