Testing and Conclusion
This 2.1 speaker system is one of the best products that Edifier has produced. When performing an audition rotation with the Edifier C3X and Edifier R2730DB, C3X ticks all the check-boxes of the minimum requirements of a good speaker. It produces crystal clear sound when playing vocal, instruments and techno, trance. All the minor details can be easily heard and not muddied by the mid or bass. Regarding the subwoofer, it can produce deep punchy bass and also capable of performing thunderous/roaring sound effects. The other thing I like about this speaker is how amazing that it can deliver the same amount of sound quality and loudness from a twin small satellites using less power. The power drawn measured through my power meter indicates it consumes approximately 4~6W but is capable of filling the entire small room with music.

Pros
1. Uses approximately half power consumption of Edifier R2730DB but delivers the same amount of loudness and quality.
2. Does not generate much heat.
3. Not very heavy compared to Edifier S series 2.1 speaker system.
4. Has a radio functionality to listen to your favorite local radio stations.
5. Can listen music via USB if it's not connected to an audio streaming device.
6. Provides an output audio jack to plug your headphones to the external amplifier.

Cons
1. Requires more room space to fit in a subwoofer and external amplifier.
2. A little more hassle to install 2.1 speaker system since there is an external amplifier.

Expectations
If Edifier were to come up with another new improvement on C3X, I would like to see the USB flash drive and SD Card input are relocated to the front of the external amplifier for easier access. In addition, a compact external amplifier will make it convenient to place on crowded desk that may have multiple widescreen monitors alongside with satellite speakers and PC peripherals (mouse, keyboard).

Disclosure: The review sample was provided by Inter-Asia Edifier – if you’re looking for this speaker, you know where to find them.

Hi guys, is there possible to do songs shuffling from the remote or the amplifier when using SD card and USB drive? Thanks for the helps.

I've just bought this set yesterday to replace my 10 years old Creative I-Trigue 5600 which was a 5.1 system. The verdict, this Edifier C3X sounded better. Although, this was my first Edifier multimedia speakers, seriously I'm very satisfied with it.

Edifier Lazada is currently having 12/12/2017 deals.

Grab your Edifier C3X speaker at RM435 before the price rises.

What did u do about the volume. I was testing a unit in All IT Lowyat and at maximum of 50, it was quite soft. Between 85-90 db.

I guess in the room its fine, without other noises

They having promo there till end of the year, RM 489

It should be quite loud for a small to mid size room.
Where would you want to put this speaker? (example: large hall?)
For me, previously I tested in a small bedroom and the volume (40-50) is sufficient to cover the entire space.
However, I'm using a computer to test it (computer soundcard provides more power via the audio cable compare to smartphone, unless you use a DAC or smartphone with in-built DAC?).
I do not have the C3X speaker with me now as I have already returned it.

Yeah I have a mid sized room. Definitely not as big as a large hall, but decent. For my room, I've tested with my amp setup that 80-90db would be sufficient.

I believe I could use 40-50 to cover my mid sized room from the c3x.

I played from my smart phones, both were soft but if u say that the soundcard on PC have the ability to boost it up a little, then I think it would be sufficient as well.

I might consider purchasing it in the next few days as 489 seems like a decent price for it

i upgraded from c3 to s350 last year when my c3 subwoofer out KO.

things i like about c3:
1) separate amp
2) speaker cable for the connection
3) smaller satellite foot print
4) easy access line in and headphone out
5) vol level display

things i like about s350:
1) better build quality.. looks more like solid wood than mdf finishing compare to c3
2) sounds better.. big improvement over bass (punchy and tight compare to c3)
3) having Bluetooth connection (not sure if c3x has bluetooth but c3 dont)

no regret for the upgrade but still not satisfying to my liking

Thanks for sharing bro. Am currently using C3x with Ugreen Bluetooth APTX for my TV. am thinking whether S360D would be a huge improvement as it is transmitted via optical cable. what is your liking for 2.1 Home Theater?

if your area to cover is not too big S350 or S360 will be good enough to do the job. Audio clarify and low bass improved over C3x. If you are using bluetooth and u r going to change it to optical/Rca certainly it will be a big improvement
