I have loved ones over in Malaysia who were told by the salesperson they could only get 2mbps in their area now ABN has gone bust in their area. They got connected today and it seems very unstable for skype and games etc, lagging and that. We went to the router stats and found that it is syncted at 13mbps, ADSL Annex A but that the data rate is 2mbps (which is the service they signed up for as they were told it was the only one) I understand maxis offer 4 and 6mbps service in some areas, and with those stats be available as all that would be needed is to bring the line profile up to 6mbps as 13mbps is the sync rate to the DSLAM, Line att. is just below 40dB. So the sync rate of 13mbps fits. But if it was the old 2mbps only equipment it would not sync higher than 2mbps.

Is this possible to check? Postcode 81750 Johor Bahru. And how do they go about upgrading?

I have PMed this to Maxis account as well. I will attach an image of the stats we pulled from the router, which contradicts that only the 2mbps offering is available.
