Im planning to get a bike.
What is there to consider of when buying a bike other than budget?

Which of these 2 bikes is better than the other one?
What about the maintenance of both bikes?
Also, where to get cheap motosikal lesen? blush.gif

Motorsikal lesen already cheap.
Both motor you mentioned is under 250cc.

U onli need B2 lesen.

... unless you plan to upgrade to Godly Master Race Motorcycle later on (eg; click my vulcan s Siggy).... then you will need B Full lesen.

Rode Z250,

Usage: City riding to classes
Fuel: RM30 for 300KM to 1-2 bar left (speed is always 100-150,under 100 is eco)
Maintainance :
-every 5000KM , 3 bottle of amsoil(firsttime only,after that 2 bottle)(RM50 each)
-Oil filter
-chain after 10000KM(RM225,Regina italy chain)
-Tire (Pirelli Rosso 2),after 15000KM

-now is 9000KM only milage no problems yet for now.
-Pickup is nice if you know how to clutch properly, torque is a bit higher than ninja, maybe due to the lighter body.
-overall good experience for a starter bike, although tempting lol to go for Z800 or higher speed bike.160-170 km/h is not enuff

fuyoh.. i only have a kapcai so im not used to big bike maintenance but if the numbers u give are standard for all big bikes, the maintenance really sucks!
cars nowadays service every 10,000 km (double bike mileage)
timing belt every 50,000 km / chain dunno how long probably something like 200,000 km (20 times longer lasting than bike chain)
tyres minimum 30,000 km, normal 70,000 km (5 times longer lasting than bike tyre)

Go Kawa... easy to repair, spare parts anywhere.

Most mechanic happy to repair Kawa.

Yamaha, and Honda spare part a bit pricey..and engine quite tricky with all those MotoGP tech stuff.

Same applies for sportsbike >600 cc.

NINJA 150 RR FTW!!
Can tapao all current 250cc easily.
Maintainance wise, need topup 2T oil regularly. Can use kapcai cheap engine oil if needed. thumbup.gif

Downside - MAT REMPIT JELLY. Secure ur bike with hidden switch or anything..

Peninsular Malaysia should be cheaper by several thousand Ringgits... you should get one if like this machine.

When u do need to operate ur bike around 110-120 km/h average daily, if u ride a <150 cc bike, the engine will operate at the max capacity. This will significantly reduce ur engine life. If u read ur bike manual, we were advised to avoid pushing full throttle for a longer longer engine life. That's the diffrent between small and bigger bike. Just my 2 cents..

Tke key here is, we need to avoid pushing full throttle to maintain our bike engine. No matter what ever bike we ride. If not, u better prepared for a overhaul. The same theory apply to car engine..

duke, my experience reviewing claims files.

duke slalu kene curi. bila jumpa, rosak sikit saje total loss.

y, second value kurang and repair cost mahal, when total the claims cost = almost sum insured d. therefore total loss. u lose.

and maybe because of its lighter, smaller in size, and powderful, rempit target this motorbike.

Ninja Pros (2013 - Current) :
1) Easier to get spare parts
2) Bigger Tank (Can go further per tank)
3) Looks almost the same as ZX6R 636 or ZX10R
4) Easier to get accessories

R25 Pros :
1) Newer bike (parts should be easier obtain after 5 years from now)
2) Lighter in weight (Easier handling)
3) Bigger in HP (Should have more Top Speed)
4) Newer/Up-to-date accessories

To let you know

Kawasaki no longer selling parallel twin 250cc

Instead sell the 300cc version

While the 250cc is under SL moniker which is single cylinder version

Hlym only sell r25, there no such thing yamaha will bring r3 here

R25 have a small tank, side profile is gorgeous but when I ride on it, it feel small. Like 250SL. B far the best looking and look awesome with suit on.

Ninja 250R, looks big but the design seem a little overdo... Trying too hard. Something about the front just doesn't seem to cut it.

If u r small size, Z250SL... cheap and look sharp. If u taller n bigger Z250 is best looking. But then if u ride frequently on highway, naked bike would be a little tough.

So.. Haha. Not that hard to decide la.

Ah, correct. Forgotten about that. They say the SE version (which comes with full system Arrow exhaust) are still available though.

Ninja 250 SL is a smaller bike, it might not not be best suited for those who is big.

Well, nobody mentioned R3, but it would be nice if Yamaha would bring it in. The R3 is really being praised as a good all-around bike.

*
Kaya bai tukar chain every 10k. Aku dh cecah 35k pun spoket n chain standard.

i bought yamaha because of the high hp even 250cc only, secondly the yamaha performance, much more better than kawasaki ninja 250..

I used to have a Honda C70 many years ago... full throttle all the time at max speed 85 or 90 downhill. Not much maintenance, change oil and brakes only. Would have died if a car ebrake in front cause the C70 brakes sucks big time but very reliable bike. Cheras - Damansara daily for few years.
