My love-n-hate show for this season, Castle has been cancelled. Not surprised though, ever since the news of two main leads are hating each others brokes out earlier.

QUOTE(nestlebliss @ May 19 2016, 11:12 AM) Ever since they killed off Katie Cassidy's character, the plot seems less and less interesting. Ironically, her appearance in this week's The Flash looks more convincing than her role in Arrow. In other news, I just found out POI episodes for its final season being aired 2 episodes per week ever since episode one, and next week they gonna air 3 episodes! CBS really can't wait, do they? QUOTE(maraippo @ May 20 2016, 12:06 AM) Because of the showrunner's decision to kill-off a character for this season and Black Canary gets the short stick. QUOTE And though Arrow has teased this major death at Dahrk's hands since the season premiere, even the producers didn't know it would be Laurel until recently. "We started off this year with the promise of a death and when we worked our way through our various different creative choices, we realized that the thing that would give us the most pop going into the end of the season and into next season would be Laurel," showrunner Marc Guggenheim told reporters at a press screening. SOS About Person of Interest cancellation, here's what CBS CEO had to say: QUOTE In case there was any doubt, CBS CEO Les Moonves admitted that the network puts shows that it doesn't own in weaker time spots and that the lack of revenue from those shows means they often get canceled despite comparable ratings. Moonves also highlighted the increased importance of owning shows as "the international market is exploding" and domestic SVOD services have spent on license deals. All that means that companies can make “pretty tremendous” amounts of money if they own a show, he said. "The value of content is so much greater than it was before. Having ownership is a huge, huge difference, and it does effect everything we do. A show that's 100 percent owned will generally get a better time period." He mentioned that this also affected fall TV schedule choices, as the CBS-owned Elementary was renewed, but Warner's Person of Interest was canceled. Elementary made an about profit of $80 million last year, Moonves said, while the company broke even on Person, "because Warner Bros got all that additional revenue." Out of CBS' six new shows for fall, CBS fully owns three, 70 percent of one and 50 percent of the remaining two. He said others do the same, saying Fox and ABC only don't know one show each out of their new fall additions. In short - the show doesn't belong to them, little revenue to them hence putting it in unfavorable time slot, leading to cancellation. |

Now no more interesting drama to watch, either the current one got cancelled or taking a break this season.
So far Preacher looks promising, others not so much. |

Problem with Sense8 was that they tried to push their LGBT agenda too much, the producers should expected this in the first place.
Just like other show, such as Supergirl with the feminist and lesbian theme ;GOT with incest and sexual depiction, American Gods with sex, nudity and gay element in it. Viewers need not to be fed with this agenda every now and then just because it's a free world and freedom if everything in the USA; but surprise surprise... not everyone feel the same. QUOTE(Quantum Geist @ Dec 18 2024, 09:24 PM) sw:skeleton crew feels like one of those stories where I just want to read the summary of the story when it ends. Love the series, it is surprisingly good.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « With 130mil for budget, the production is quite good. Although it seems like a kid's show, the lore behind it are more than that. It has Fallout+Lost In Space elements in it, which is more than welcomed. |
