What you guys think about CNC milling?I'm 21 and i'm interest in machinery, coding, programming, designing so i guess CNC is best option for me.What i want to know is,the salary ok?i know the salary of newbie is as low as rm1500,but what about maybe after 3-5 years of experience?what's the highest position in CNC?is there any good opportunity in CNC? i do know basic of 3d modelling, programming and math, will i do good in CNC?

programmer work is dull and boring, imagine to put yourself 10 hours in front of computer, and a pushy boss next to you, can u stand it? That is a good career, being a CNC programmer can earn good money, I can't assure you how much you'll be earning in the next 5 years (assumed u mastered the skill). Job market shows that 3 years of experience in this line, they are likely to earn RM3.0K and above. Back to 10 year ago, I start my first job with RM1200.00. By the way, your English is good enough. I understand what you said.

I am working in steel industry right now so I guess I am qualified to give some opinion.
First of all, you have a pretty good english for a Form 1 leaver, which will be a plus for your career growth especially working in medium-large size manufacturing company for a non-secondary/tertiary education graduate.
Secondly, what is your current occupation? Are you working in manufacturing line? Operator type of work? Do you have any knowledge in term of sketching or reading 3D drawing? (Either hand drawing or AutoCAD/Solidworks will be very useful if you are not doing routine repetitive manufacturing work)
Third, CNC machinist require some mentor to guide you for the G code programming. Once you have mastered this I do think this will give you a pretty good career path in future as more and more manufacturing will be automated and manual labour will be replaced sooner or later (a lot manual lathe/milling machinist is getting retrenched recently and will most likely getting replace even more by automated manufacturing in the short future).
My suggestion would be starting off with CNC machinist to master a skill set for yourself first, then after a couple of years try to venture into robotics programming if there is the opportunity (the ABB type of robot for manufacturing line, not the fighting/talking robot from terminator), which will allow you to further grow your career in manufacturing line if here lies your interest.
Salary wise would be alright (more if you are willing to OT), I'd personally suggest you to take on this path rather than the lorry driver as you will gain some technical knowledge, rather than some repetitive job that you will not learn anything new for future growth. Personal advice from me is that you should look at the long term plan as you're currently only 21 years old, do you want to work as a lorry driver until you get married and grow old? A skill set will bring u much further in future even though becoming a lorry driver might secure you a short term higher salary(in fact lorry driver might even getting replaced by automated driving in future, but won't be in the next few years).
Just my 2cents.
