Hi guys, I'm currently eyeing on evic vtc mini as my starter kit. Is this kit a good start for beginners? If not, do you have any alternative suggestions? I browse through lazada and saw a few listing of evic vtc mini for below 200. Is those original?

Any comment will be appreciated.

Thanks for the link buddy. In your opinion, should I just get the starter kit or the mod alone with tank from other manufacturers like subtank mini or even the Goliath? Worth to spend extra?

I believe there's a few different head out there isn't it? Not sure the name but some just replace the head once it's out and the other type is rba which can be rebuild.

Which type of head you guys actually prefer to use? Cost wise, is it expensive to replace the head coil?

Pardon me for the questions. Just trying to learn.

Replace occ will be costly in long run.
If u r beginner jz go for subtank. Easiest to maintain and learn. Some better tank might be cheaper but wouldn't want to deal with leakage etc etc if u r not used to recoiling urself
*
Thanks for sharing mate. Will order evic mini with subtank most probably. By any chances the shopee owner is a forumer here? Been waiting for his replyπŸ˜•

You're asking about Shopee/Alexng? I bought 2 units IPV D2 from him. Cheap & good. Quick delivery. Can arrange to pick up yourself as well.
If you're thinking of getting an Evic Mini, I reckon the IPV D2 V3.0 is a better mod. The Evic still haven't fixed the Titanium mode.
Buy extra battery as well. The LG HG2 is pretty good & Alexng sells them the cheapest locally.
Vail
Ok. Thanks.

Hi JimL, thanks for your recommendations. Do you think tfv4 tank, or bellus would be recommend for beginners? I don't mind learning cleaning and what not. As long as no need to spend extra in the very near future for upgrades(lies).

Yep, I'm referring to shopee alexng. Perhaps I should just buy through shopee instead of directly dealing with him via whatsapp. 😊

Hahaha... You'll still need your training wheels. A Subtank is easier. You can use/buy the prebuilt coils while you learn how to coil & wick the RBA head for the Subtank. Learning to wick is the hard part. Get it wrong and you'll get leaks, burnt cotton etc.
There's no safety net for the Bellus ie. no prebuilt coils. If you don't wick it right it'll leak....a lot!
I wouldn't know about the TFV4 other than its goes through liquid fast & it works better with high wattage.
You can pay to Shopee and arrange to collect from Alexng.
*
True enough that it might takes me a little while to learn all that. So far in the market there's only subtank mini that offers pre-built coils? I just shop through the shopee and found out that mmsretails (kuchai lama) is selling the evic mini with original tank + battery + subtank mini for only 256. Ipv d2 + subtank mini + battery at 256 too.

Good to go?

Ok. Solved all your problems. I just contacted Alexng, and he has stocks of IPV D2 V3.0 black color. 3 units left. You can buy the Subtank from him as well. Pretty sure its authentic. Alexng's buddy is a forumer here. Buy extra batts. His LG HG2 is the cheapest I've seen.

Thanks alot mate! cheers.gif Please let me take a second to thanks all of you guys who help me through all this questions and whatnot, I deeply appreciate all the help. On a side note, I'm more towards to order the evic mini as it's a ill more aesthetically appealing to me personally. By any chance you guys have any TT sessions that maybe can get to know each other personally and maybe can spend some time to try out each other mod?

One last question before I jump into the ship, which juice would you recommend getting from Alex Ng? I saw some imported juice as cheap as 70+ to even 250+. Does the flavor different alot as compare to those local brews?

Even my ciggs are those light like dunhill mint so is there anything similar? It seems that many people order the church by cosmic fog but the price. doh.gif

My friend just forward it to me. Seems like Alex got the IPV D2 cheaper. thumbup.gif

Hey JimL, mind asking what's the material use for your Ipv D2 like? Full aluminium construction? I'm really torn between the D2 and the mini. Oh gosh.

Depends on usage, 2-3 weeks max. Seems tfv4 coil have a normal lifespan.
I'm sure they'll use some fancy ass medical term for vaporizer.
I'm putting my money on P.E.N.I.S aka "Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhalation System"

In that case I need to order some wires. I have read the differences between the gauge size and oh but anyone mind to share what about different materials?

Or should I just experiment with kanthal a1 26gauge first yea?

Nichrome, imo same as kanthal minus the metal taste you'd get at the beginning. Titanium, nickel ni200 for TC. SS 316L is the best again, imo, clean taste. 317L also for TC at half the risk of ni200 and Ti wires. Oversimplified but you get the idea.

Definitely get 26g first. It's the most versatile wire gauge to work with.
Guess if that were my only option, I'd go for Smok since, "ooh purrdy lights". Like Vail I'm too a Yihi fanboy.
*
Thank you for taking your time to share. Appreciate that. So in your opinion that kanthal will have some metal taste at the beginning aye? But it's weird cause I recall reading someone posted that his nichrome have metal smell here few pages back.

If between kanthal and 316l Stainless Steel wire, which would you choose, buddy?
6.11usd for 26gauge X 50m
7.64usd for 26gauge X 50m

Heck, not even sure if I need that much. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

QUOTE(andyng38 @ Oct 27 2015, 01:58 PM)
How long a coil lasts depends on the coil material, how good yr wicking is, what u vape, how often u vape, how hot u vape, and how often u dry burn. NOTE: do NOT dry-burn Ti coils...google why u shouldn't do so.

In my own experience, if I vape DIY juice, a coil made of kanthal can last up to 3-4 weeks, Ti and nichrome lasts up to 2-3 weeks. I just change when the flavor reaches a certain point...I can't describe it, but that flavor tells me that the coil is a gone case and it's not worth cleaning and rewicking any more. Sickly sweet local juices with colorants will gunk coils faster resulting in more cleaning/dry burns and hence a shorter lifespan.

BTW, don't forget to update yr Evic mini's firmware if it's not already on v1.20. It's my fav carry-around mod and works great. biggrin.gif
*
Thanks for sharing mate. Looks like you do enjoy your evic mini, really can't wait to get my hands on them. What tank you're using on your evic mini? I have heard about the new firmware that bumps up the power to 75w. Isn't that nice? πŸ‘

You're most welcome  smile.gif I thoroughly enjoy the small size and ease of portability, and you heard right. We haz 75watts now, and I can almost see the LG HG2 batt level drop with every 2 tokes at that setting  biggrin.gif BTW, you may wanna read up on the Evic mini having real step down (bucking) capability vs the IPV D2's  faux step down emulation. I'm not too techy and don't know the implications of real step down vs emulating step down by firing shorter pulses though. As long as I get vapor the way I want it, I'm a happy puffer!

Below are some drippers used with that mod and my ever-faithful flavorful Zephyrus. Been only using the Velocity for a day...it can chuck some serious clouds and the AFC is excellent...but still my fav Snubnose dripper seems to produce better flavor (despite having tried various airflow settings on the Velocity; but I'll keep searching for sweet spots) . Kanthal on the zephy, and a mix of nichrome and Ti (spaced) coils on the rest. Nichrome has a faster ramp-up time than kanthal, but I may be migrating to more Ti coils because it produces a "cleaner" taste. Vape on bro!

Is there any articles where I can read on the step down thing? Tried google it but seems like my keyword wasnt pinpoint enough.

By the way, is there differences between each RTA even both are using the same wire and rba head? Saw that you have 3 RDA there, wondering how much differences it make compare with RTA too and guess what, my unit just arrive. Both of our units are in tiffany blue. What a great looking device! smile.gif

Nope. Still burns around the same compare to TFV4 using RBA for both. More wraps or coils increases flavor and also burns more juice. I tried TFV4 dual coil RBA then switched to single coil RBA Uwell Crown. The flavor from Uwell Crown single RBA doesn't cut it until I went twisted vertical coil (equals dual coil untwisted coil on TFV4 dual coil RBA for same amount of wire).
*
Hey mate, would love to know how do you wick your tfv4 single coil rba properly? Do you actually have the length that deep down to cover the juice hole?

Im using it for less than a day but I seems having dry hit and crackling even on 30w.

Any comment will be very much appreciated, would really love to learn more.

The fire shooting out of drip tip was first reported a long time ago. Thats why I cancelled my Evic VT order from the group buy here and waited for the D2.
Theres current complaints of the VTC jumping out of TC mode. I didn't bother to read that but if you're using a 0.05ohm Nickel coil and it jumps out of TC mode its gonna be scary.

Hopefully the wire can hold up.

why that guy use VW mode???

Not sure on that, if you go through that forum, he seems like ignoring the question when others asking which coil he's using. Nevertheless, it's very scary though. blush.gif
