Did IBFT today to cimb and scb from mbb. Did anybody have problem with m2u today? keep jumping to error you must have press backspace or refresh, then i have to login again. After multiple attempts, including restart laptop, different browser, still same problem, then for some reason it worked.

Anyway, ibft to cimb and place the 3 month 4% promo. I wish more banks have efd. So convenient. Been placing 1 month m2u efd too.,

Hi all, I've been lurking in this forum awhile and only recently placed my first fd with uob and maybank a month ago.

I went to Maybank today wanting to place the 2 months 3.9% (effective rate) FD, but was convinced to go for the GIA instead. Though not capital guaranteed, its 4% 2 months, and if at that time I decided not to terminate it, can still go on till 1 year for the 4.5% effective rate.

Anyway, I ask the officer about the 5.5% for next month. She said have not heard anything. She was guessing maybe its a change to the current GIA or something but will keep me posted.

If you are ok with GIA, you can go for maybank GIA step up. 1st-6th month is 4%. So after 1 month, withdraw, you still get the 4% unlike traditional fd. If after a month you don't need the money can continue keep.

However, if $10-20k for 1 month, I prefer efd, not worth the effort & time to go counter. Maybank efd easy and convenient.
