QUOTE(michaelho @ Oct 16 2015, 09:12 PM) If you are ref to CIMB , yes they are pretty ridiculous in calculating weekend interest. They will cheat you of 1 day, confirmed, which is why I always make sure my FD maturity doesnt fall on a weekend / long holidays The root cause for the non interest payment over FD due date fall on non business day is due to the some bank's FD system treated this type of withdrawal as premature withdrawal for the renewed placement from the due date to the next business day (day of withdrawal). The FD system has no provision to cater for such situation.Maybe there is no rules from BNM or not many depositors complain about it to push the banks to upgrade to smarter FD system similar to that of OCBC. Checked my FD, OCBC and SCB have FD matured on Sat ! My UOB placement was on 17/10/2014, the maturity date is 19/10/2015 which is a Monday. Another FD placement on 29/10/2014, maturity date 29/10/2015 Despite all that have been said about BR, their system, same as CB, will adj to next working day. Not even MBB is doing that, but you have to ask them (MBB) to pay you for those FD that matured on non working days. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Oct 18 2015, 10:35 AM |

Effective yield for interest paid monthly is 5.04% Comparing just yield and risk only, BSN is currently slight better yield than PAV Reit @ RM1.52 now. 5 Years FD Comparisons The Best Return: (No. 1) MBSB 4.7% with interest paid every 6 months (No. 2) Am Bank 4.55% with interest paid monthly if 50 years old and above (No. 3) BSN 4.5% with interest paid monthly if above 50 years old and FD deposit exceed RM 50K The Most Secured: (No. 1) BSN 4.5%, no PIDM but FD deposit guaranteed by the Malaysian Government. Are they trying to get more Chinese customer ? 2 days ago when I was in BSN to pay bills, the staffs were very slow but luckily I saw 2 sexy young girl customers in good shape that made me awake.. I am not interested in placing FD with BSN, I do not like the staffs slow working behaviors. FD depositors are usually Chinese because Bumi do not need FD since they can get other Government "Kang Tao" that non-bumi are not entitled. QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Oct 18 2015, 03:55 PM) Can compare. If one wants to compare and there is nothing wrong to compare. Even Apples and Oranges also we can compare the differences. Men and women also we can compare. Singapore can compare to Malaysia too. ROI in property investment also can compare with ROI in Gold investment, ROI in FD, ROI in ASX etc etc. There is no right or wrong to compare. Any thing also can compare. |

QUOTE(Vincent9696 @ Oct 18 2015, 04:43 PM) ur 7% is mean amanah saham?quite interesting to know thats saving account although im not bumi. Hehe Few years ago I saw a bumi holding a small book like a saving account bookin a post office, he told me he could get more than 7% of interest of his saving account in post office. I did not ask him further lah otherwise he thought I wanted to rob him, then how..?? Bumi got a lot of Kang Tao lah... Last time a bank manager told me Bumi can make 4% free money by borrowing personal loan from bank at 5% rate, then use this money to buy a government bond to make 9% profit, but this will take several years to generate the profit. Bank manger told me that this bumi rejected bank manager idea, because this bumi wanted to make fast money.. |
