Hi... newbie here... so please bear with any noobnees I might cause blush.gif

I am interested to put in a new player in my Perodua Kancil. So I go to Brothers yesterday to survey the price and the player. I'm surprised to see that entertainment in the car is not only limited to the player but it is more than that... well I've seen a lot of that boom-boom thing in a few car in my neighborhood... but I never had any interest in it at all.

But now... I think I want to put one system like that or maybe as near as that (depends on budget) inside my car... drool.gif

The thing is... I don't really know much about these... have been reading a lot of info from many threads in a few forums... so I figure I might as well open a thread and ask about it here.

Well... as far as I'm concern... aside from the player... I will need speakers, amplifier and woofer.

If I want to setup ICE in my car... roughly how much would I need?? For the whole set... is RM1000 enough?? Because the player it self is already priced at around RM300 to RM500.

And I stumbled with some topics about sound proof. Mind telling what is this?? Is this suppose to reduce the sound outside the car?? And tweeters... what is that and what is the use of it??

Oh forgot to mention... I like to listen music with bass a lot...

Thanks in advance... and very sorry if I open this topic in a wrong place... need some kind of guidance here notworthy.gif

~sigh... it seems I need to up my budget a lot. Should RM1500 be enough?? And for the typical bass lover... what kind of stuff do I need to put in??

And choices of HU.... can anyone recommend me on this?? Don't want the one with display screen though... that is too much I think sweat.gif

Good day to all sifus here... mr. Phoenix... I hope you dun mind me hijacking your thread since I'm a beginner too and I drive a Kancil as well... blush.gif

Now I just went to a shop called Brothers to find out some info about ICE and what I can put with my limited budget.

The guy there... after some discussion... suggested to me to put a HU by the brand of SONY around RM288 or so... pair of component speaker for the front of my car and use the stock speaker as my back speaker... roughly all the cost including upah pasang aarr... is RM720! rclxms.gif

So what all the sifus think... and this component speaker... since there is no subwoofer in this setup.. is it good for bass???

My maximum budget is only RM750 worr... rclxub.gif

Or maybe I shud wait for my bonus next year around Mei to put a better system including woofer and amp... for now I would be better off buying a HU first.

Any comment sifus blush.gif

if u ask me, most probably I would say skip any of sony's ICE stuff smile.gif ....they are not quite an expert for ICE stuff wink.gif.....last time might be OK but not nowdays.... sweat.gif

rather than going for sony, go for pioneer 2006 models like 2850, 3850 or 4850 whichever is in range of ur budget thumbup.gif ...if front aux in is a neccessary need, then maybe u can consider this HU but I strongly advice against going for a sony HU....most ppl would say so too biggrin.gif ...cheers... icon_rolleyes.gif

anyhow, Im not that sure about the new feature of current sony HUs which is known by drive-S, perhaps someone can let us know here.....hehehehe.... tongue.gif

You can get a decent Sony or Pioneer HU for about RM500-700. BTW, I'm using a Sony HU in my setup and it's been working perfectly. SQ is good enough for my ears.

If you're just starting off, you can get a decent setup for about RM 2 - 2.5k.

u are probably rite and correct here smile.gif .....I heard low end models below 7 series produces rough and bassy sound...but if u, Kai Sheng are just starting up, it shud do wonders to u..... biggrin.gif

talk about chaplang discs, in my case I download most of my music from net or either get it from fren (burnt on CDRs) brows.gif ......in any case of listening music, the last thing that I want in the world is to be troubled by HUs that couldnt detect or play any cheap disc doh.gif vmad.gif , that would also be troublesome for those ppl who buys their CD from pasar malam....... sweat.gif

and to say pioneer is good becos can play chaplang disc is little bit misguiding wink.gif , well I dont mind if u say pioneer is not sensative to normal discs which means good... whistling.gif thumbup.gif

Going to change my car to Satria rclxms.gif

Forget about budget...

But if I want a complete setup of HU, amplifier, speakers and woofer... how much is the minimum usually I will have to fork out... don't want the so cap ayam one like the one Brothers is packaging (RM700 for the whole set... the speaker is so bad sweat.gif )

If I have the image of how much it will priced... maybe I can find some way to fork out the money... hmm.gif

And this time it is not for Kancil... its for Satria... and shud I put in rear speaker as well?? Or the component speaker in the front is more than enuf?
