Imo, best to stick wif tablet board instead of tablet LCD.

When u wanna use the pen. It need like 0.1 to 0.2 sec to "switch" the detection to the screen. It a long run. U will feel irritating.
And u can't rest ur wrist on the screen. Later smudge the screen,rite?

If u got dat money, buy tablet PC. u can bring ur laptop to sketch at outdoor.

u mean like, when u draw on the screen, it will only start detecting the movements after 0.1-0.2 seconds? ya thats irritating.

It need 0.1 to 0.2 second to "switch power" to ur pen..

You definately don't need/ couldn't afford Cintiq 21UX.

Intuos3 is the best bet. It takes some time getting used to it, but I've heard that you can draw using a tablet and animate 2D in Maya (South Park)

yup. frickin Cintiq costs liek Rm14722 last I saw.

The problem is with tablets, when I need to draw something, and I need to 'turn the paper' to one side, i get disoriented. Especially if you don't have a reference drawing under it.

Zbrush... wow. Now if they let Wacoms work with *SHH*Mudbox, I'd rush to buy an Intuos.

The problem with Tablet PC is they have NO sensitivity at all, it's just "touch" or "no touch". Pretty much a novelty pointing device. What do you mean by turning the paper to one side?

you know, turning the paper diagonally to draw lines at a certain angle not possible (or possible, but very horribly) from another angle.

i do most my modelling on 3ds max and mainly use zbrush for detailing. a tablet is useful there. My Rm75 tablet has survived for one year plus.

what does mudbox do that zbrush cant?

sensitivity? as in brush size? it doesnt matter for me. im not experienced with brushes anyway. im a pencil/pen manperson

Use the shift key on the keyboard/configuring intuos touch keys? They make straight lines from 2 points.
Mudbox is fully 3D (viewport rotates instead of model) while Zbrush is 2.5D currently.

Not as in brush size, it basically hurts your stoke endings, making them look unnatural. Plus if you have a pro tablet, sketching in Painter is as good as it gets.

i didnt mean straight lines though. i meant freehand lines. I cant draw certain angles from certain directions. since tablets have no reference points, I have to force myself to draw in these odd angles. so i have to stroke, not good, undo, stroke, not good, undo, stroke, ok better *twitch* crap, undo, stroke. there we go.

Maybe, but then again my style mostly has no stroke endings. since i mainly do comic type art and not finearty stuff.

so ive decided to prolly get a lowend tablet pc. its essentially an overpriced lightbox.
