Grisoft have announced that AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition version 7.1 will expire in January 2007, and users will be required to upgrade to AVG Anti-Virus Version 7.5. Users are being encouraged to move to the commercial version of AVG especially the AVG Anti-Malware and AVG Internet Security products as they protect against spyware as well as viruses. In the last two years the huge increase in infections has been relating to spyware rather than viruses, the free product (including AVG 7.5 Free) do not detect spyware. At the extremely low cost of just US$44.95 for TWO years of AVG Anti-Malware, the cost / benefit is clear, users can purchase this at www.grisoft.com. Users however may continue to use AVG Free 7.5 if they download it from free.grisoft.com
