QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Nov 2 2015, 02:35 PM) Actually I think nothing wrong with buying funds that invest in local market. Small cap especially. It's hard to keep track of all the small caps, and those stocks need funds to push to move |

Hi all
can you help a newbie in fund supermart? I'm using Chrome browser. I just purchased 1 new initial investment worth Rm1000, through FPX / Public Bank. There was a popup window and everything went to the end of 4 steps and in the end I just logged out from that window. However the initial window still refreshing and in the it kinda times out and says the transaction failed. Importantly moneys have been deducted from my bank account. I suppose this is normal? Update more details So I made the transactions after 3pm and it is stated as pending. Am I good or do I need to call for help? This post has been edited by lee82gx: Nov 2 2015, 03:33 PM |

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Nov 2 2015, 10:48 AM) I every month look at the fact sheet of the funds I holding, just glance thru lar, not that I keep them all Wanna ask how frequent is fact sheet released? Monthly? From 2008 til now at all times I have HwangIM fund(s) in my portfolio Eh, eh eh... Chio bo? QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Nov 2 2015, 09:25 AM) HwangIM always does this to preserve capital. Shouldn't the fund manager go BBB or klci hasn't hit rock bottom yet? Btw the last time I see such high level of cash holding was during the last 2008-2011 meltdown |

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Nov 2 2015, 02:13 PM) Funds got its ups and downs. The big underlying assumption here is the fund manager of both funds are performing at same levelI know your all favourite question..."why HSOF and not KGF?" KGF is 100% Bolehland, it CANNOT invest offshore HSOF can diversify up to 30% offshore At times of Bolehland low growth, HwangIM can move money offshore If u look at long-term performance, HSOF is still one of the top Malaysia-focused funds. And since I also holding Ponzi 1.0, I can switch freely between HSOF and Ponzi 1.0. Are they? There is this Dali equity fund in CIMB which was a star fund that CWA charges 6.5% sales charge on... after I put some money in the PRS that feeds to that fund in 2013, it's been lausai-ing. Never recovered.... Is SOF suffering from the same fate? |

SOF and KGF is not the same animals, though QUITE similar But SOF has significantly lower volatility compared to KGF, due to (1) HwangIM often raises cash levels when they foresee market weakness (2) SOF can diversify overseas when they see limited opportunities in Malaysian stocks During periods of KLSE weakness, u can see SOF outperformed KGF, and vice versa |

I intra switched out from Affin Japan Growth Fund today. Put 1/2 in Affin REIT and 1/2 in Affin Bond Fund.
For the past few months, I have periodically taken out money from FSM to deposit back into my bank account. I think Pink Spider and some of the other professional fund managers are right. We need to hold more cash to take advantage of the market volatility. There is no need to be 100% invested at all times. Looks like my plan to enter KLCI in December has to be put on hold. Contrary to my prediction, the local market has not crashed or corrected sufficiently to make it attractive to enter. Anyone interested in Red Sena's IPO in December 2015? You may win big or you may lose big as well. |
