Normally we only use SSD for OS and store some frequently used software for shorter access time, this is also suitable for low budget user.

If you want to replace your entire HDD with SSD (even for file storage), then you gonna need to prepare a lot of money, 1TB SSD will cost you at least 1k+.

For your case, I suggest you to add a 120GB SSD for your OS and Dota 2 game files, while keeping the 1TB HDD for file storage (video, music etc.)

Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 229

is it mainstream now to use a SSD for OS, and a HDD for storage? i plan to buy a desktop and use it at least 5 years without upgrade...

The games you listed aren't hardware demanding so the spec below is more than enough (unless you plan to play other triple A titles).

Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 487
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 290
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200
Palit GTX950 2GB GDDR5 StormX - RM 699
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 180

Total: RM 2260 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

thanks for your recommendation. notworthy.gif

as i still need windows 10 (RM450+) and a dvd writer (RM60+), so this spec might over my budget. any part can cut some cost? sweat.gif

For Windows OS license key, try to get OEM key to save money, around RM200+/-, or just get Windows 7 (even cheaper I think) and upgrade to Windows 10 for free. OEM key activation is permanently tied to the first activated mobo, so it is not transferable, if you think you will build another PC again and would like to reuse the key, please opt for retail key (more expensive).

Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 487
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 290
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200
Zotac GTX750Ti 1GB GDDR5 ZT-70702-10M - RM 499
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Samsung DVD-RW SATA ODD - RM 62
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 180

Total: RM 2122 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Add USB port? I think it should be enough, but if you want to use USB Hub extender then go ahead.

i just check the prices for Win 7 and 10 OEM from some shops, all above RM400. cry.gif

for usb ports, i found out mobo has some ports too, so it is enough. sweat.gif

Question. My headphone has 2 plugs, one audio one microphone. Does this rig have 2 audio jacks to support my headphone?
