Hi guys, I would like recommendation for building a gaming rig.

[Budget]
RM3k-4k

[Purpose]
Gaming (mid-high graphics, enough to maintain ~60 fps on 1080p)

[Hardwares that will be re-use]
Mouse, keyboard.

[Monitor resolution]
1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] LoL, Dota2, CS:GO

[Personal preferences]
mITX case, specifically Fractal Node 304.
i5 instead of i7. Skylake or Haswell doesnt matter, whichever is the cheapest.
A 60Hz 1080p monitor.

Since you don't mind Haswell or Skylake, I'll go with Haswell since it is cheaper and the GPU suggestion is purely based on your games you most played.

Intel Core i5 4460 - RM 799
ASRock H97M-ITX/ac - RM 369
GSKill NT 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 209
Palit GTX960 2GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 939
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 199
Fractal Design Node 304 - RM 349
BenQ GL2460 - RM 539

Total: RM 3622 (Idealtech price inclusive of GST)

If you want to max out your budget, you can upgrade to either GTX970 or add a 250GB SSD or get an IPS monitor.

Thanks. Its my first time building an ITX rig, was wondering does the PSU fit into the rig ? Also, how much of an increase if I were to opt for GTX 970 ?

Can fit but since it is a non modular PSU, you might have clearance issue, suggest you to top up to get a modular PSU like Seasonic M12II EVO 620W (RM 409), cable management is much easier.

The cheapest GTX970 from Idealtech is Palit GTX970 Reference at RM 1579, a bit pricey, if you can travel to Lowyat Plaza/Techview(PJ)/ETech(Kepong), very high chance you can get a cheaper quote.

Thanks. Lastly a few questions, what would you suggest for an AMD equivalent of GTX970 or GTX960 ? If by using AMD gc, how would it effect the above build ? can it still fit ?

If change to AMD, you need a more decent PSU than the currently suggested FSP Hexa+ 550W (you can switch to the Seasonic 620W I suggested above) because AMD card is power hungry, not recommended to run on low wattage PSU.

AMD R9 390 = GTX 970
AMD R9 380 = GTX 960

The question of fit or not fit is solely depends on the model you get, different brands have different lengths.
