My computer is sorta 'dying' after being overclocked for a few years (3 years). No BSOD, just power off intermittently. Resetting to defaults used to work but no longer. Could be faulty PSU, but anyway feel like moving on... It is an old LGA 1156 (i7 870). I have the following :- 1. RAM - Mushkin 8.0GB DDR3 2. GPU - Gainward GTX 970 3. Sound Card - Asus Xonar Phoebus 4. Optical Drive 5. SSDs - 1x 250Gb Samsung 840 & 1x 500Gb Samsung 850, running Win 8.1 Pro 64bit I need :- 1. Good 'gaming' case preferably 2. CPU 3. PSU 4. Mainboard Budget : - Less than RM2k Can I go for Skylake? This post has been edited by defaultname365: Oct 24 2015, 08:31 AM

QUOTE(Human10 @ Oct 24 2015, 09:34 AM) You can't reuse DDR3 RAM properly if you go for Skylake, also it is a budget killer. I see.. I did a quick run through of Skylake components (LGA 1151 Mobo, CPU, DDR4) and it seems to cost a lot more $$$ than I expected. Oh well, have to change my PSU then and see if it works. My current PSU is a Cooler Master GX 650W - any good PSU recommendations? Was thinking of getting another CM (or Corsair).

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Oct 24 2015, 08:54 PM) Get Seasonic, what Seasonic offers in their PSU is much better in terms of internal components than CM/Corsair's PSU at same price range (for low/mid end PSU). Alright thanks. Never been a follower on the PSU front, only know Corsair/CM but once I got to know Seasonic seems like it is in a class of its own.
