[Monitor resolution] 1920x1080

[Personal preferences] NVIDIA brand for GC, 256gb SSD to store preferred games? and boot up too

[Location] Kuala Lumpur

Hi and good morning senpais. I would like to get some suggestions in building PC..

Mainly I just want to build a PC where I can play in high setting (not ultra high) games as stated..
I don't play those console-like game..Only online MMORPG games.
I guess I don't need to spend much for the PC to achieve high setting and have a good FPS (no crispy when playing with
many people and recording)

Currently I am playing with my laptop..Having 20FPS averagely is..tearing me apart.

Also I like to use two monitors to separate game and browsing. If needed, I can squeeze a few hundred RM if it is necessary (up to +RM500)

Thank you sifus and senpais.
Cheers! thumbup.gif

256GB SSD isn't cheap, it will take 20% of your available budget and I'll go for Haswell due to budget unable to fit Skylake.

Intel Core i3 4160 - RM 500
Asus H81M-K - RM 229
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - RM 220
Gainward GTX750Ti 2GB Golden Sample - RM 579
Liteon S900 256GB SSD - RM 409
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 225
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139

Total: RM 2490 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Fraps kills FPS sometimes, you can consider switching to Nvidia ShadowPlay for recording.
*
Hi there!

Let's take it for RM3k case.. I might be able to squeeze that (max)
Thanks for the suggestion tho..but I have 128gb SSD..and it's always has <10gb storage (makes me paranoid seeing the red bar)

You need to change mobo and RAM also if you move to Skylake.

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 875
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 409
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 289

GPU should be enough, I never played MMORPG games before so I am not sure what is the graphics requirements, but I checked the site, seems pretty low on requirements.
*
I see.

So here updated one

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 875
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 409
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 289
Gainward GTX750Ti 2GB Golden Sample - RM 579
Liteon S900 256GB SSD - RM 409
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 225
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139

Total up to RM3114.

I think in the future if I want to make an upgrade, I will just need to upgrade the GPU yes?
Since the others are pretty much updated..

Also..A question.. how much is a good wifi card to put in a desktop? Since i will be using wifi..
(cable too far)

You downgrade to i5 6400 (RM 809) to save money if you wish to do so.

About upgrade, it depends, but from the current selection, GPU upgrade is more likely to happen.

TP-LINK TL-WN881ND PCI-E WiFi adapter (Dual antenna) - RM 63

It's ok. I am fine with your suggestion.
Thanks terence! Have a good day.

Also if anyone has their suggestion too please help me out before I buy (don't want to regret after biggrin.gif )

For me, I would buy better gc first and then just buy the ssd later. if u drop the ssd for rm400 then u can upgrade your gc to zotac gtx960 for another rm200-300 with 5 years warranty. somemore u can play some graphic demanding game at low - medium setting at pretty good fps.
*
Is it good to settle for the GC, but in return take 128gb SSD first..
And buy good HDD for better game loading? <--I am not sure about this though..

The only reason why i chose SSD is to load faster when using PC.. and loading screen in games blush.gif

Normally I will focus on GPU first, loading time is not a main consideration factor for me, it is just either slower or faster (the game will still load), but for GPU, once you bought it, you are stuck with the performance forever unless you upgrade it.
*
Is Zotac GTX960 good enough for any latest game though? If i happen to be interested into it..mainly Fallout 4.
Hmm. Now i am going to change my mind for a bit nod.gif

Decent enough for mid-high settings in 1080p.
*
What do you think about this..

Zotac GTX960 2GB GDDR5 Single Fan - RM 819
Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 875
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 409
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 289
Liteon S900 128GB SSD - RM 269 / Liteon S900 256GB SSD - RM 409
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD - RM 299
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139
TP-LINK TL-WN881ND PCI-E WiFi adapter (Dual antenna) - RM 63

With 128gb SSD = RM 3351

With 256gb SSD = RM 3491

If you are worried about the single fan temperature, you can get the dual fan version at RM 840 (MGS:GZ version), not sure still got stock or not.
*
The dual fan only for MGS version? I am a bit scared if the temperature will get too hot anytime soon

Nope, they are more actually, the MGS:GZ version is under promotion last time, not sure still got stock or not, if don't have, you can get the normal AMP version at RM 899.
*
Ah.. thanks for letting me know beforehand.

Will go for dual fan then! thumbup.gif

Hi guys! It's me again asking for another insights before finalize my shopping-trip

This was the RM3,500 gaming build that I asked the other day..

p/s : I only play MMORPG like Dragon Nest and TERA online (hoping to play in high settings with good FPS. I have motion sickness when playing AAA games)

Zotac GTX960 2GB GDDR5 Dual fan - RM 849
Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 875
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 409
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 289
Liteon S900 256GB SSD - RM 409
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD - RM 349
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139

(Price from techview)

And I would like to ask for suggestions about monitor, router and mouse.
(I hope i can find any suggestion here to prevent new thread)

For monitor, I am currently using BenQ GL2460HM.
So far I am using it as external to my laptop.
Will give out this monitor to someone as soon i get the new rig so I want to chip in for a new monitor.
Any suggestion for good monitor that can give me 60fps gaming experience? (with better color too but don't need IPS?) - Budget preferably below 700 but any monitor below RM1,000 can be considered.
Is there any monitor that the same as good ol' Dell U2312HM?

As for router, I have been curious about this..How is it fare in improving the speed? Currently using 30mbps subscription Unifi and stock router.
We use HyppTV though..compatible with HyppTV is good (No astro in our condo) - Budget RM400 and below

Mouse..Any recommendation for Palm grip user? Budget RM250 and below.
Was aiming Logitech G502 the other month but..so far no review in Malaysia yet?

Thank you guys blush.gif

There is a pretty cheap IPS monitor from AOC, I2360SD, RM 499 from Techview.

You can also look for Dell U2414H, my personal recommendation, nice color and freaking thin bezel, it is around 1k, under same UltraSharp series with U2312HM.

"improving the speed" <--- can you get full 30mbps on WiFi? If can then I don't think you need to change so soon unless you are sick of the crappy WiFi signal of the stock router.

As for palm grip mouse, you can look for Logitech G502 or Razor Deathadder, there is a video review by Linus on Youtube.
*
Thanks for the reply terence!

Are there any other options aside for the U2414H monitor? Like how about BenQ Gaming series monitor?

As for the router, our router position is a bit isolated (like in the corner) maybe the signal is a bit off? Mine sometimes got cut off whenever i am playing..
which is really annoying. Not sure if change the router can also improve a bit speed? or it will remain the same?

I just read about that mouse..It seems like G502 is a claw grip mouse? Maybe Razer DeathAdder suits me more but I got tired with Razer branding...
Also bad experience with Logitech too rclxub.gif
But DeathAdder seems like is a top-notch mouse regardless being a Razer..

Some say G502 is palm grip, some say claw grip, well you have to try the demo yourself only know which to pick  laugh.gif

Gaming monitor? Normally they come with TN panel which I don't like, maybe I am get used to IPS so couldn't go back to TN.

144Hz - XL2411Z (RM 1199)
60Hz - RL2460HT (RM 999, not worth the money since it is still 60Hz and TN panel)

If WiFi signal is weak, speed will become slower and latency will increase, try to use LAN cable if you can, if cannot then you can get a better router with strong antenna like Asus RT-N18U/RT-N14UHP/RT-12HP.
*
True that. I need to test it by myself. At least I have the final two options to choose biggrin.gif

I like IPS too as TN panel is a bit..annoying? biggrin.gif

How about the other IPS monitor?
I am not sure about IPS monitor that much since first will be using it (soon)

Dell S2316H RM749
Dell S2216H RM619

LG 23"IPS (23MP75H) RM680

Asus RT-N14UHP is compatible with Unifi? As in can use hypptv as usual?

Any reliable source or claim that can support your statement?  hmm.gif
Take note on the screen type, cheap IPS normally comes with glossy screen type, which mean you will see your reflection on the screen if you are under bright light source.

RT-N14UHP is compatible with UniFi and HyppTV.
*
I see.. Guess I will settle with the U2414H then! biggrin.gif

Thanks for the clarification. Will get that too.

Another one, seeing that the post above saying Liteon is like that..
What are the alternatives to get for 256gb SSD yeah?

A lot, like Kingston HyperX Fury, Transcend 370, Kingston HyperX Savage, they are around RM 400+/- range.

Samsung 850 EVO and Intel 535 > RM 500.
*
I just checked lelong and saw Savage and Fury they have same price.
Either way is fine yes?

Savage is a bit faster than Fury in terms of read/write performance.
*
Since it is a bit faster, is it advisable to go for Fury? Since it's not making an impact too..yes?
Fury +RM40 = Savage... blush.gif

terence_nwb Hi sifu. It's me again.
Can you suggest me a good version of GTX960 with max budget RM950?
I heard that Zotac is loud..And Leadtek is not bringing in more supplies for GTX960.

Also can you recommend me good CPU cooler to go with i5 6500?

MSI Tiger or Gigabyte Windforce OC (Dual Fan version), should be around RM 920+/-.

And about cooler, stock cooler should be fine but if you insist to get a cooler then you can try Cryorig H7, CM Hyper 212X etc, but I still think stock cooler will do the job just fine for locked i5, save the money for future upgrade or other purpose is better in my opinion.
*
2GB or 4GB doesn't matter right?

If i stretch my budget enough to buy i5 6600k + with Gigabyte Windforce OC, I can go for the cooler since for OC yea?
This will be my first overclocking though..

Is this set up good enough?

(previous --> current in mind)

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-B150M-D3H INTEL LGA1151 M-ATX MAINBOARD -> ASUS Z170M-PLUS INTEL LGA1151 MANIBOARD

GPU: ZOTAC GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 128BIT GTX960 ZT-90306-10M -> GIGABYTE GTX 960 OC 4GB GDDR5 128 BIT GV-N960WF2OC-4GD

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 Processor -> Intel Core i5-6600K Processor

Or any suggestion? Thanks sifu!
