My computer is sorta 'dying' after being overclocked for a few years (3 years). No BSOD, just power off intermittently. Resetting to defaults used to work but no longer. Could be faulty PSU, but anyway feel like moving on...
It is an old LGA 1156 (i7 870).
I have the following :-
1. RAM - Mushkin 8.0GB DDR3
2. GPU - Gainward GTX 970
3. Sound Card - Asus Xonar Phoebus
4. Optical Drive
5. SSDs - 1x 250Gb Samsung 840 & 1x 500Gb Samsung 850, running Win 8.1 Pro 64bit
I need :-
1. Good 'gaming' case preferably
2. CPU
3. PSU
4. Mainboard
Budget : - Less than RM2k
Can I go for Skylake?
You can't reuse DDR3 RAM properly if you go for Skylake, also it is a budget killer. It is an old LGA 1156 (i7 870).
