Hi guys. Need your help to recommend me to build a CPU that can play Dota 2 at decent 1080P quality. Budget approximately 1k++ only (ya I know it is quite a small budget) exclusive of the monitor.
[Budget] 1k++ (less if possible)
[Purpose] Mostly for light gaming approx. 30% of Dota 2. Some photo and video editing.
[Hardwares that will be re-use] 1TB WD Cavier Blue, Keyboard and Mouse, DVD-RW Writer.
[Monitor resolution]Acer K272HL 27" 1080P 60Hz 5ms LED Monitor DVI-D Monitor. Not HDMI capable. Already bought this monitor for RM685.
[Games & softwares that use frequently] Will use photoshop and some light gaming esp. Dota 2.
[Personal preferences]
Power Supply - FSP HEXA+ 550 Watts - RM189 Casing - Aerocool Strike X One Advance USB3.0 - RM147 RAM - Kingston 8GB HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 - RM199 Motherboard - Please Suggest CPU - Please Suggest Graphic Card - Please Suggest Cooler - Please Suggest
I think within this tight budget I can only get AMD APU series right? I might upgrade my CPU from time to time to more high end rig but maybe by usingAMD build not much that I can do. or any other recommendation? Thank you.

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Feb 16 2016, 09:47 PM) Pick Skylake platform and use the iGPU to play Dota 2 for the time being, the iGPU of Skylake (HD 530) is quite powerful, you should be able to get more than 45 FPS at medium settings (1080p). Get a dedicated GPU when you have extra funds in the future. Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 485 Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 289 Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 196 FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188 Bitfenix Nova - RM 149 Total: RM 1307 (ETech price inclusive of GST) TQVM for your recommendation. I'm thinking of choosing 6th generation Intel which is skylake and that i3 6100 is enough for me. But in the meantime i'm not going to purchase all of the item. I need to buy one item per month because i've collecting my budget, and i'm not rushing to use it too. my last purchase will be my CPU. Anyway Bitfenix Nova is out of my list because I've bought Armaggeddon Teratron T7 White - RM165. FSP Hexa+ 550W is my next buy.

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Feb 22 2016, 08:18 PM) You still have your old PC with you? If yes, then is the mobo available to reuse? If no then new LGA1155 mobo is quite hard to find nowadays If you go for Skylake (6th gen) system, the iGPU of Skylake is quite powerful and is able to handle casual gaming (stronger than GT730, almost equivalent to GT740/R7 250) so you can skip the GPU (save money ) Sorry for asking, If I'm already using Skylake but wanted to buy standalone GPU for budget <RM500, izzit worth it? Only play dota 2 and normal browsing & full hd videos.
