QUOTE(edison_84 @ Nov 26 2015, 10:47 PM) [Budget]RM3000 Not quite possible unless you have HDD to reuse and the build will be based on Haswell (4th gen) instead of Skylake (6th gen).[Purpose]Gaming [Hardwares that will be re-use]Monitor, keyboard, mouse [Personal preferences]is it possible to get 970 gpu with 3k budget? Intel Core i5 4460 - RM 830 Asus H81M-K - RM 240 Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - RM 220 Zotac GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 1399 FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189 Bitfenix NOVA - RM 149 Total: RM 3027 (Techview price inclusive of GST) If you don't have HDD to reuse, it is still possible to get a GTX970 + i5 rig under 3k, but you need to spend time to hunt for the cheapest item either online or physical shop. To get Skylake i5, you need to top up another RM 250, just for CPU + mobo + RAM alone. |

QUOTE(lytros @ Nov 27 2015, 04:31 PM) Yup of course ok, just to remind you that i5 is 4 cores 4 threads while i7 is 4 cores 8 threads, I saw you wrote "last for quite a few years" so I suggested i7 instead since your budget is somehow able to fit it, current games are still not optimized to use the extra threads of i7 but future games with DX12 will But in overall, i5 still a beast for current games and you shouldn't face any issue if the games aren't that CPU demanding. |
