Sorry to tell you that your budget is impossible to fit all the requirements. The peripherals you stated require at least 1k, the remaining 2k isn't enough for i5 4460 + GTX960/R9 380, either you increase budget or remove some of the requirements, e.g. mechanical keyboard, IPS monitor etc.

So you want me to proceed for a rig with all requirements included without considering your budget or you want me to suggest a rig based on 3k by ignoring some of the requirements?

And for your info, you won't be able to play at max settings for the games you listed especially GTA V with GTX960/R9 380.

What if i remove the monitor?
also if keyboard and monitor is too expensive i can buy cm storm devastator.
But are they good?

I don't think we any have pink color case here  laugh.gif

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1329
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 409
Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 569
Leadtek GTX750 2GB GDDR5 OC - RM 485
Liteon S900 256GB SSD - RM 409
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 225
Seasonic M12II EVO 520W - RM 349
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv MATX - RM 459

Total: RM 4234 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Make sure your TV isn't running at 4K 60Hz because you need a GPU that can support HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 for that. Anything below that resolution is totally fine for the chosen GPU. If you are using it for casual or occasional gaming too, you can think of upgrading to GTX960, if strictly for work, then GTX750 is enough since we only need the CUDA technology.

You can pick other case based on your personal preferences, it is just my suggestion after all.

Hmmm...skylake? How about skipping the tv and use it purely for photoshop cc2015 or cs6? No gaming maybe casing go for beng in win

Guys if I can find some cheap 2nd hand
i5-2nd gen + mobo + 8GB ram + etc...

and put a what u guys typically recommend
Zotac GTX960 2GB

It should perform similar to a i5-4gen right?
from all the reviews i read the 2gen are not too bad in terms for performance.

been looking at the BTS section for a good deal,
*
Performance is not too far from 4th gen so you're good to go.

IPS + matte monitor and mechanical keyboard are not cheap, they could go up to 1.5k in total, assuming 1k for monitor if you go for Dell U2414H and 500 for the keyboard (Corsair/Razor/SteelSeries etc your own choice).

So for the time being, just get a cheap keyboard + mouse combo set (< RM 50) and a cheap TN panel monitor (~ RM 400) so you can put more budget in your rig, those fancy things can be upgraded later.

Yes it is Skylake (i7 6700), any problem with Skylake?

If purely no gaming, then low end card is sufficient, some apps don't even utilize GPU power so an i7 is enough for now nod.gif

LOL laugh.gif

Not really needed actually, iGPU in Skylake is quiet strong but still lack of CUDA technology, but since your main task is photoshop, not heavy in rendering (e.g. Premiere Pro), so it is ok not to pick any GPU for now.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1329
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 409
Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 569

FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139

Total: RM 3269 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Swap the SSD to 128GB to keep < 3k.

OS takes around 25GB only, you left 90GB for other programs, should be enough for adobe software and some personal stuffs.

Any problem with MSI? This model has 4 RAM slots while other brands' mATX only come with 2 RAM slots at slightly higher price.

Cheapest Asus will set you back around 600+ for their H170 board.

If you want to go that much, might as well get Z170 from MSI.

Nearly the same price.

And I'm using MSI B150m with Skylake.

Seems fine for now. 4 slots of ram is defo a plus point.

Side note : If you are tight on budget, can get OEM Liteon SSD for 3XX for 240gb somewhere in GS.

[Budget] RM 3K (monitor, case, keyboard, mouse and other accessories are not included in this budget )

[Purpose] Mostly gaming (expected to play most of the latest game with high setting), entertainment, and some programming and multimedia

[Hardwares that will be re-use] none

[Monitor resolution]

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Dota2, COD, Eclipse, Photoshop, Illustrator

[Personal preferences] -

[Location] Bangi

Is it possible to add water cooling system for the cpu and gpu within my budget? if its not possible, how many ringgit i need to add to have water cooling system in my rig?

You prefer it to run on Skylake or Haswell for the system?

If you run it at Haswell, you probably could get a higher end GPU which would be more beneficial for your system in terms of gaming.

As for water cooling, pretty sure you can get for your CPU as the cheapest one I saw was around 200 bucks or so.

For gpu, that one, you have to wait for an expert to clarify.

Side note : December still a long way. Prices may change by the time you want to purchase due to current economy conditions.

Most probably Haswell is nowhere to be found by end of this year as Skylake is slowly taking over the market now which means you need to spend more due to the price of Skylake.

Water cooling is not needed due to your budget can only fit a locked (non overclockable) CPU. If you have extra to spend, don't go for those low end and cheap water coolers, they just aren't as good as high end air cooler. A decent CPU and GPU water cooler can cost you a bomb, as high as 1k, so for the time being, just use the air cooler which comes with the CPU and GPU if you don't want to spend so much first.

Just to let you know first, if you go for Haswell i5, you can get a GTX970 with some over budget (+/- RM 250), if you choose latest Skylake i5, you mostly end up with GTX960/R9 380.

i did read a comparison between Skylake vs Haswell, and as a conclusion Skylake is better than Haswell. But since you said with Haswell i can get better performance in gaming, probably will use Haswell. You guys knows better than me biggrin.gif

Yeah, december still long way to go, i hope i can complete this rig by next month biggrin.gif at least i get the idea what i will have in my rig

Skylake does not offer much other than power efficiency and DDR4 support compared to Haswell.

Was using an i7-3770 SB and I can't say there's any significant different much on my gaming performance.

If you on for the Skylake build, you'll be spending much more than 1k for the watercooling.

i5 - 6600k will set you back around MYR 1089.

i7 - 6700k I'm not sure.

You'll also need to spend more for a Z170 board in order to fully capitalize on the capabilities of the unlocked processor.

As for PSU, I'm using Silverstone 600w 80+ for my system. But I reckon you don't need that much.
