Is there any good motherboard that support 6th generation intel cpu and ddr 3? Or the performance difference between ddr 3 and ddr 4 is too big? |

QUOTE(tzer ming @ Jan 23 2016, 08:52 AM) Thanks for your suggestion. Not recommended to use DDR3 on Skylake due to this reason. Is there any good motherboard that support 6th generation intel cpu and ddr 3? Or the performance difference between ddr 3 and ddr 4 is too big? DDR4 overall brings better data transfer speed and power consumption, the price is almost very close to DDR3 now and Skylake works better with DDR4 so I don't see a reason to keep the DDR3. |

Hi guys, need some recommendation on building a rig. As for your info, imma newbie.
[Budget] Below RM3000 [Purpose] Gaming and streaming. [Hardwares that will be re-use] Mouse and keyboard [Monitor resolution] 720p or 1080p [Games & softwares that use frequently] Dota2, Call of duty, CS. [Location] Kuala Lumpur/ Klang Valley. [Personal preferences] Thinking of i5, but i7 would be better Thanks in advance This post has been edited by hollyweed: Jan 23 2016, 01:36 PM |

TQ Sifuu Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 828[Budget] : RM 2500+- [Purpose]: Gaming [Hardwares that will be re-use] Casing [Location] KL [Personal preferences] Prefer i5 Skylake. Dont need 1TB HDD, 500gb is enough cause i will delete games after finishing it. Gigabyte H110M-DS2 - RM 290 Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200 Zotac GTX960 2GB GDDR5 ITX - RM 849 WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215 FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189 Total: RM 2571 (Techview price inclusive of GST) I assume your case can fit mATX mobo (you didn't mention the form factor in your post). If you need a new monitor then you have to downgrade the i5 to i3, if not it will be over budget. 500GB and 1TB HDD price difference is very small, only ~RM 20 so the 500GB is definitely not worth to get.
