Hi all,

I just bought Samsung Galaxy A8 for my wife and until now she cannot switch to it as all important whatsapp msg is still in iPhone.

Tried to use Samsung Smart Switch apps but only contacts, SMS (30 days old back only transferred ), notes and few other things I cannot remember can be transferred into Android. No luck for Whatsapp and the other apps data. But she dun really mind for the other apps data. Oni concern about Whatsapp data.

The last possible solution's link also broken and this thread is quite old. I do believe there is a solution now..hehe

Also found few article on net..but most of it ask to jail break so that can use iFiles to retrieve the database files from iPhone but the iPhone is using latest iOS version.


So, i really appreciate any helpful advise from you guys..

I'm on android and I can actually extract my message to email and backup back from that

From android to android is extremly easy, copy the whole whatsapp folder to new phone and whatsapp will automatically restore all chat history and data.
I tried to google and found this, have a try.

you mean email those messages and load it back on the other phone??if can also i think got limitation also..i will not email all the media rite?

no doubt about it..android to android..iphone to iphone..but this iOS proprietary thingie is killing me..nvm..i'll try to have a look a this link..

U need to extract the WhatsApp folder from the iPhone backup. That's the only way.

Create a Google account to transfer data between Android and iPhone will be more convenient and safe

The database format is different. Unless you use some sort of paid apps to do the conversion, there's no other way.

If you just miss the photos and videos, then just back up to your pc. Use free tool to look into your iPhone back up and extract all the photos and videos from whatsapp directory.

THE ONLY way...bought the apps for rm20..put inside the new android phone, download the ios whatapps data via some free software(wazzap migrator has few example)..extract it and put in android phone..install Whatapps and restored from phone..
