if you do have extra cash in hand , why not(assuming the PT is a real deal) but the fact that you're hesitating you probably not (no offence , we all wantu save cash in the current economy)
reasons to justify a PT hiring (IMO) :
-form check , movement is lateral raise , deadlifts , squats and etc etc is hard to learn from watching alone . IE , it's a lot easier when someone is checking your back when you're doing deadlifts (arching during DL is extremely common )
-teaching you basics of nutrition , basics , because nutrition is really something personal and require personal tailoring via fix and error
-a good support(assuming you do not have any experience lifting friend )
reasons why not too ?
-bodybuilding.com has everything you need to know , if you're willing to spend the next 3 months reading up
-MONEY BRUHHHHH
-often there is a lot of bullshit PT ( I've seen PT who preach half repping and a lot more worse PT which I'm too lazy to describe )
how much it's worth it (what you're offered) ?
-first HOW GOOD IS THE PT ? ask for free pt session and tell us more abt it
- what supplement he is willing to provide , tbh it's so freaking easy to determine what kind of supps you know (except roids) from your outlook . and I assume a 180 bucks different is probably protein( market price , is around 180-200ish for a good 5lbs of whey , IE OPTIMUM NUTRITION WHEY )
-and 90bucks for a gym fees is decent , equipment wise , so long as there is a set of dumbells , some basic machine and SQUAT/POWER RACK , you're good to go (as a newbie)
