thanks man, too bad i'm from malacca....the availbility of tamiya stuffs are very limited, there's only one tamiya shop here...so the price sure cut-throat one..these cars can drift on what surface? and the ones you recommend is battery operated?

yea, mmu malacca....i heard from my friends that there are some people drifting their rcs. and they happen to be my friend's friend...small world eh..especially if you stay in malacca....sigh

haha. Tamiya is still the best for doing this thing. I own a Tamiya RC, but it is a ready made. I bought it when I was in standard 5, that is more than ten years ago. but, it still function till now.

This one beginner in rc lar. Shaft driven is not something new   

Tamiya TA-01 and TA-02 are shaft driven way before the TA-03 which is belt driven.

guys, I'm looking at this website rcuniverse.com. They recommend this TAMIYA TT-01 for newbies and non-serious players. Anyone know about this model? Hard to find details on the net. Its roughly RM500 if I'm not mistaken.

2.ss19 subang jaya-surface tarmac but only on saturday for drifting

anyone knows the exact location of the tracks? Thinking of visiting the SS19 one.

bro, want to ask...which do you recommend. Yokomo ready to drift package or TT-01?
I spent the evening looking at pictures of other RC players...I see a lot of them got TT-01 and TL-01. I think these people are mainly in the US though.

if aluminum parts are so easy to break, why is Tamiya selling them at high cost? Is it only used for serious racing?

Btw, what shop is BTS sells these? In case I drop by...

just checked the specifics of the R540 sports tuned motor that comes with the TT-01D...it revs at 21,000 rpm max. Having a really wide Joker-style smile on my face right now

yep, I like the Yokomo coz it comes with the D1-style body shell. I think outside cannot get this at all. Question - if I get the Yokomo drift package, can use Tamiya parts in the future? Eg engine, hop-up, rims...

Chris is right, it is cheap. Like I said, cheap is comparing it to cars, affordable is comparing to you and your own budget What Cinta said is right, Yokes have more variables that you can play with. The DP in question has ball differentials as compared to gear differentials that you cannot lock (yes I am getting a bit technical, let's just say the former is easier to lock, and yes, you will want to lock it for drifting sake), you can adjust the caster, rear toe in/out, etc. Also, it comes with a nice bodyshell selection as compared to TT01D even. Bro, it's RM900 for just the car kit you know, batteries, charger, controller all not included.. kit doesn't refer to Ready To Run.. and yes, Yokomo is superior to Tamiya for entry level drift cars so it's no wonder that they're more expensive.

I really recommend you get a TA05. Look it up

The sports tuned motor is a 27t brushed motor that doesn't have an end bell. Translated, it is slow, outdated and once it's comm and brush is out, you're gonna be out looking for a new motor as well, so don't hold too much hope towards it! The standard now is a 13.5 to 21 turn brushless motor, this way you get excellent performance and it's maintainence free (no brush).
