how about street jam? and is it come with remote or have to buy separately?

Do you recommend the street jam? How does it perform? Is it RTR? How about spare parts? Isit east to get? Sorry so many question.. Last when I was student wan to play so much but dun have money.. Now hav money dunno how to choose..

hi bro.. Street jam is a really good chassis to start with but it might be a bit on the expensive side. The cheapest i saw is around RM800, but does not come with electronics if im not mistaken. if u read a few page back i did ask the sifu here about getting a new chassis, and he recommended Street Jam R31. I just got in to RC drifting myself a few month back. I bought Tamiya TT01D Drift Spec all in plus all the electronics and the remote, i spend around 1K++. Try and browse around the net, im sure u will find useful info. try and have a look at this link.

Where are u from btw, around KL there is a lot of RC shop for u to find spare parts. Street Jam parts are really easy to find. Most of the local hobby shop carry the item. My advise is to try and fork out a little bit more money in the beginning, and get a good chassis. Not to say that the clone chassis are not good but they tend to have weak part installed, which after a few runs will get loose or even worse, it break.

Anyway.. Noob here.. Sifus.. Correct me if im wrong. cheers..

i dun mind spending around 1k to 1.2k.. im from shah alam btw.. can recommend me any nice RC shop around? usually of go to RC shop browse around without any knowledge kinda lost.. this might go into my budget next month..
if its good i dun mind price.. is HPI any good? i try typing those brand and try to see review on youtube but usually come out ppl video drifting their RC oni..

Ooo.. Streetjam R31.. Will consider it.. Is it RTR? How about HPI E10 drift RTR? Is it good?

Street jam would be a good choice.. For the R31 chassis i dont think there's RTR set up for it.. Its almost a semi pro kit (if im not mistaken), usually those dont come RTR.. Some does not even come with the bodyshell.. U need to buy the electronics urself.. Get the salesperson to help u out in choosing the right electronics..

HPI is a really good brand.. But compare to street jam.. I would recomend street jam..

It would be easier to just get RTR set.. But to me, rc car is about learning the set up.. Building ur own chassis and understand the car parts and electronics while u build ur car. That is where u learn the most.. The set up.. The tweaking and experimenting to get the ultimate set up for drifting..

trust your friend, you need a front one way to drift properly. without it, you'll keep understeering. front one way act as handbrake like in real car. you use handbrake to enter the corner and start drifting right? its the same principle here, you brake and only your rear wheels will lock thus 'throwing' your rear end sideways

anyway, i read that someone is looking for chassis? a clone ota r31 kit only cost rm200-300. but it didnt come with front one way (not sure whether did it come with rear lock and cs thou). or you can start slow, get a Xray T2 clone. upgrade front one way and cs 1.3 max! anymore higher and your car will spiiiiiiiiiiiiiin cos the steering angle is just toooo little to pull your front end.

btw, clone is not as weak as you think. i've been playing clone car for quite sometime now.. until recently changed to a *not recommended for drifting* car and clone is cheap compared to the original one. you can buy few chassis for the parts and its still cheaper than ONE original chassis. another thing is that, drifting mostly done in slow speed. even if you crash, there wont be much damage/impact done to your car

so use a clone R31 chassis + good electronics = FTW!
This shud save me a few hundreds.. So which shop do u guys recommend? I live in shah alam.. So any particular brand for clone chassis or just go and ask R31 clone chassis at the shop?

not sure, but most of the KL/PJ indoor tracks are carpet surface. ofcourse there is a differences on different surfaces....

carpet - grip, have slight traction. (according to most pros, carpet is closes to real car drifting)
cement/tiles - very loose, having very less traction, to me is much easy to drift in cement coz you just punch throttle a little bit and car will start sliding.
asphalt/tarmac - not much experience on tarmac surface (play on tarmac not more than 5times) but i feel pretty much the same like cement.
