I'm not sure I can recommend vermintide at this time. It's fun, melee is well done . but its still a grind with rng loot and all that. And with loot being main focus, playing 40 mins map just for a white or failing it at 30 mins and not getting anything are quite punishing things. I wish that at least if we are near the end and got wiped out, we at least get a junk white, so that we can at least combine it for a chance at loot.
Then the usual hard CC of The specials like l4d2 but one of them can cc you and drag you around map until you die while your team mates try to catch up to free you, with long loading ranged weapons and melee focused combat, that chase would take ages. Hoping at least the Pack Master works like the Jockey in L4D2 where you can try to struggle and slow him down or fight against the direction he's going. I am not a fan of hard CC in general.
I played an hour and half grinding same map last night. But then again. I was level one and fellow players all lvl 1 also. Not sure if the RNG loot is a good idea. There's 13 maps on release, but with the focus on loot, we might end up with players focusing on farming the most efficient map and ignore the rest. So it feels like unless you have kakis to play with, be prepared to struggle with finding pubs to play the maps you want.
I am definitely enjoying the game and planning to spend the rest of the week playing. But I am thinking whether to refund after beta ends. Very fun game, but I am not sure if the RNG would be improved, and especially since Fat Shark is known to dump their games halfway through. I hope I am wrong though.

I do agree with you on the RNG loot and most prolly players are gonna to farm the most efficient map which i think its the first map (horn of sigma) for the 3 tomes and 2 grimoire. there are ways to improve of it. to prevent player keep farming a particular map, fatshark could implement what D3 did (bonus map). RNG looting might leads to some further crafting for specific weapon traits to your liking. i do like the intensity of the game. getting flank left and right.
like the successor of L4D, the game is much more fun when playing with your friends and shouting on VOIP. we need more kakis. and get a mic
Used to be a L4D fans but stop it for a long time because of my work.
If you are obsessed with the loot, better weapons that give you better abilities, then yes, it is a farm/grind.
BUT technically, the weapons mostly have very similar stats, only the advantages they give you are different. So you can still play everything with your basic normal weapons, though maybe you can't play on the highest difficulty. Of course, because there's loot, most of us will end up obsessing with farming the loot instead of playing the game for fun. So yeah, it depends on whether you are obsessed with the loot or just want to play a good L4D2 game.
