Seriously this statement is a joke "so, Huawei doesn't have the known reliability of Motorola, Samsung and LG."
I had used several HW phones, many Samsung n 3LG n my personal assessment HW reliability n build quality is one of the best if not the best

Watching last night's announcement and reading the subsequent hands on, I'm getting more convinced that this should be my 'upgrade' from the OnePlus One.

However, my main concern is the SD810 which is known to be hot and throttles performance. Even if they can dissipate the heat well, performance suffering is kinda not worth it.

*
I had experienced the S810 chip on One Plus Two and MI NOTE Pro - both phones DOESN"T overheat at all. I supposed this overheat issues were just initial reports when chip was released

What about performance? Overheating may have been countered with the heat spreader or so.  sweat.gif
*
Personally for me the overall performance is good . As for gaming , no comments as I don't do gaming on my phones
However between the two, my choice is on the MI Note Pro instead of the overhype One Plus Two : the MI Note Pro is slicker, smoother, nicer audio quality, with nicer display and much faster camera snap and better pictures

So meaning if I buy the USA version, confirmed can use LTE in malaysia?
*
Many N6 users here are using the USA imported version. Initially there was doubts about compatibility but proven such doubts were wrong
As long it supports lte band 3 n 7 it should be fine here

The 5x if priced at <RM1200, will be a good buy. Otherwise, there's just too many competitors from China for this spec. I consider 2GB RAM as a mid range device although the 808 SOC is yesterday's champion.
I used a Huawei Ascend Mate7 previously. 6 Months and the speaker stopped working. Maybe I just had 1 bad apple...also had a faulty Samsung Note 2 previously. However claiming warranty from Huawei wasn't as easy as Samsung.
*
Mate7 has a free new replacement in first year. This was specifically highlighted on launch day which I attended. Did you ask for it as few Mate7 users got free replacement. The last user reported his 10 month old set he got it within 2 hours. HW will not repair any defective set in year one. Point reconfirmed back to me by their marketing manager after few months phone launched n I was asked to reconfirm this point.

I believe my previous SIRIM permit for the OPO is valid for 3 devices? Does that mean it's for the same model or different one?

Do share how much techbug would be charging. Any links to them?

One permit for 3 units same model n.be brought in same time together

Oh sorry just checked again and yeah no removable battery and sdcard support for them. I meant it would be a better alternative in terms of pricing, but other alternatives would be lg g3, g4 or even other branded phone.

These phones lack what the NEXUS series offer - quick updates on latest Google firmware and numerous roms/kernels flash-ability options. This is always the reason why I would like to buy a Nexus

A thumbs up from Android Authority of N6P vs N6

Is there any rough estimation about the delivery time?
*
No idea yet. I'd expect at least a month. Will advise you guys when I get any updates. No hurry for me as I had 3 other phones with me right now

QUOTE(Jurlique @ Sep 30 2015, 12:23 PM)
What's your damage like?

Unit + delivery + other cost to get to your hand?
*
Price as per his site. NO extra costs for delivery in M'sia. If you choose payment by credit card or paypal - usually extra charge 3, 5% respectively. I supposed he will cover all Sirim/GST charges . My previous N5 purchase I pay exactly as he listed

I am not a fan of any brands - I had used before Samsung , HTC, Nexus, Sony, LG, Acer, Asus, Nexus, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo etc
Each brand has their own unique pro n cons
However Samsung seems to be a brand many hate but yet many want to buy
These days my purchase will be constrained by :
- display size , minimum is 5.5 inch prefatably 6 inches
- minimum 2gb ram
- minimum 64gb storage if no ext sdcard support
- chipset unimportant Eg I even find HW default chipset is good enough, R7+ Sd615 midrange is good enough. I don't play games so great powerful performance unimportant
- Battery size minimum 2500 mAh
- display type unimportant but given a choice prefer LCD instead of Amoled ( colors I find often too saturated n bright)
- camera : decently good n speedy is sufficient. I am just a simple point n click guy. MP not too concerned over it
I had yet to find my BEST smartphone ( which doesn't exist ) n closest to excellent will be Note5 n LG G4

On those live in delusional and denial will continue to bash China brands.

I support ur views.
*
My first China branded phone was Huawei Mate6.1. Was sceptical initially about HW but the fact they were the world's 3rd largest mobile phone sellers after Apple n Samsung encouraged me to test it out. I was not dissapointed n was impressed with it. Thereafter I followed up with mediapad X1, Mate7 n p8max. All these HW phones were indeed good. I had rated Mate7 as best 6 incher I had used vs Nexus6, XZU, Mega 6.3, HTC one max, LG GPro2.
My other china makes : oppo find7 n R7+. The R7+ has now taken the crown over Mate7
My recently acquired Xiaomi MI Note Pro was a much better phone vs my ex one plus two ( another China make)
It is indeed sad China brands are often look down. But seriously now those high end phones are no longer cheap just because is China branded or make in China.
It will take some years before China brands are recognize well
Google is not dumb to select HW as their partner without any deep research into their manufacturing capability n reliability.

My brother is in the states and will be flying back this month. I'm thinking of getting him to buy a 6p back for my use. Is it as simple as buying in there and bringing it along with him on the flight? What complications should I look for? Sirim? Import tax etc etc? Thanks
*
No problem usually for 1-2 units. Just unsealed the box and take off phone packaging and if asked just said is for personal usage. Unlikely it will be hold by custom and if indeed hold apply Sirim permit ( RM 100) and pay 6% GST on phone invoice value. GST if brought in through courier company one will need pay directly to courier company . With personal bringing in, probably pay to airport customs ??
Buying sets from USA make sure is unlocked set and not tied to telcos

I thought if you just checked in the phones in your luggage bag, you won't be asked about any of these questions right?

If your luggage is not checked than is straightforward an non issue.

That's your ignorance of how a nexus device can be played around and its latest stock android experience

Chasing hardware spec is a endless game

For N6P to be priced starting from $499 with that kind of build material and tech spec, it is more convincing as compared to last year N6 which started with ridiculous price.

At least it's convincing to those not earning ringgit
*
It is true our continual plunging of the ringgit now makes this Nexus series and all other upcoming phones more expensive. Add in another 6% GST makes it worse ! I cannot imagine the Horror when the exchange goes to RM5 to 1 US$ !!!

Today after i have a look at a few hand on video... I changed  my. Mind.. 6P its a good design phone.... If you just ignore the huawei brand,  u will see the light..all metal body.. Quite unique design...thin body... Big battery... I say screw note 5 im going for nexus 6p
*
Another HW non fan. Actually HW make very good phones. I had very good experience using Mate6.1, X1, Mate7 n P8max. As said earlier on Google isn't that dumb to give them the chance to manufacture the phone without detailed review of their capability n reliability. HW is world 3rd largest mobile maker after Apple n Samsung n you don't make lousy products to achieve that status.

some of ppl said, pay a little bit more, get 4GB of ram and S-Pen....
*
That choice will solely depend on what features a buyer need in his smartphone
Buying decisions is not solely on pricing or brand only
Nexus line is more suitable for users who demand quick n fast update to firmware, less bloatware n its options to allow flashing of many alternative kernels or roms.

I think the sad thing is our currency too big
*
I think you meant our currency is too small or weak vs the major currencies of the world ??
It is just too bad it is so and the 4.4-4.5 range is expected to be so in the next 2 months. Will it go down below 4.3 in coming months ? No one really knows. Those who make money playing with currency will either make a big loss or profit. This exchange rate has make all phones more expensive already.
