Investing SG stocks using IBKR ok? Or better to use a SG broker to invest? How are the rates like? I'm a Malaysian.

Yup, I use IB and buy SREITs, S-banks etc. 2.50 SGD min per trade for fixed pricing, a little more (2.6-2.7 SGD min per trade) for tiered pricing. If you are heavy in US shares, then tiered pricing might be better although fixed pricing is cheaper for SGX counters. US shares tiered is 0.35 USD min whereas fixed is 1 USD min.

I usually buy 200-300 shares per trade, if share price is some 2-5 SGD (let's say 4 SGD), then fees are about 0.3% per trade.

You can also use SG brokers to invest like Futu's Moomoo, Tiger, Saxo, Poems SG or FSM MY/SG.

Thanks 👍.. I might buy some DBS stocks soon. It has some insane growth in year 2021.

Might just stick to Tiered pricing as I invest more to USD etfs. Changing it takes a day to complete.

SGX Bursa linkage no longer priority for Bursa. The CEO claimed that since these days you can buy SGX shares via "internet brokers", they will instead focus on attracting good IPOs from tech and healthcare industries.

yeah just use Tiger Brokers or Moomoo good enough.

Hi everyone,

I'm a noob in SGX, well, to be frank still kinda noob in market share as a whole lol.

Do we Malaysia get taxed for dividend in SGX? I have tiger broker that i use to invest in US market, and it has SGX as well. but I'm not sure if we get tax for dividend.

my intention is to move out my incoming money from Malaysia and invest out of Malaysia. for now I'm more into US market, but SGX is a good option as well but more for less risky option.

I've heard about SREIT, but today i stumble upon DBS, which for me is mainly for divvy play.

Tiger brokers can use it to buy SG stocks. Fees ok. But best is Moomoo. I didn't use Moomoo coz they need +6mth valid passport before can apply.

For US stocks best is IBKR. Watch Ziet Invest youtube videos on how to open IBKR and fund using Wise. If want avoid audit by IBKR (need keep all receipts) then Wise to CIMB SG then transfer to IBKR. In his videos got withdrawal steps also. Remember use a referral code when sign up so get free IBKR shares every 100 deposit. Also change its pricing to Tiered at settings for cheaper fees. Default fee is Fixed more expensive.
