Interest rate will surely impact the NIM. By how much? Not sure.
But the other non interest income streams are strong too.

MAS does not control interest rates, they control how SGD will move against a basket of currencies like USD, MYR and CNY/CNH. Usually the currency movements mimics that of US Dollar, with interest rates slightly below that of USD as market prices in a lower risk premium for Singapore vs that of US (and on par with Switzerland), plus the implicit assumption of a long-term appreciating bias for SGD.

It's 3rd in Asia against the greenback after MYR and HKD (which is pegged to USD). MAS still doesn't plan to slow down SGD's appreciation anytime soon, so SGD/USD will still climb higher for now.

We shall see what MAS will say at 8 am. October 14.

A few more qtrs of collecting divdiends from DBS and I can cover back the losses from my cutloss actions on a few REITs this year and last year !

Looking at the revenue mix, I think the Fee Income is still not able to cover any shortfall in the Interest Income when interest rates start dropping. If i.r. drops by less than one percentage pt,... it's still okay but the moment the drop goes above 1%, then the banks will start experiencing notable y-o-y net income drop.

Taken profit on UOB on July 12 at $33.10, this looks to be a good pt,....

Taken profit on OCBC on August 6 at $13.98 on that 'single-day crash' when the BOJ raised rates. But OCBC is now at $14.47,... too bad,... exited too early.

Still holding-on to DBS tightly,...average price at $30.00, not too low, unfortunately,...
