I got lots of firepower brows.gif

Can afford a few more rounds of T-bill but will stop once 6M rate goes down. After all my target now is O&G and commodities trading firms and they are richly valued at the moment 6 month later crashing down then only enter might be good timing. smile.gif

I also plan to add S-banks, waiting for DBS to go to March 2020 level and purchase using my CDP account to try out CDP features.

Why wait for 6 mths later to enter ? Many things can happen in 6 mths time. As you wait, you can do the T-Bills and all, what you are still wasting opportunity cost by investing in lower-return instruments/vehicles.

Why not S-REITs now ? ... S-REITs have crashed already. Why target something that is high now, and then hoping for it to plunge ?

Well bro I am just saying 6 months later according to bro dwRK's charts we will see even lower levels. So now lock in high short term rates, then 6 months later market crashing, just in time to buy cheaply as T-bills mature. At least that is my playbook.

Reply : I used to think like this earlier,... then I realized I was trying to time the mkt. How would I know mkt would crash in 6 mths' time ? What if mkt crashed earlier ? The charts would chg as new price movements come in,... you can't use today's charts to predict something that would happen in 6 mth's time down the road.

S-REITs not cheap enough for me yet. Bro cherroy already mentioned yields need to be 7 to 8% p.a. to be enticing for the large-cap ones. During crisis we can expect 10-15% p.a. yield.

Reply : I was thinking like this too,... but judging from the mkt movement in the last few days,... mkt is thinking differently today.

This is a good indicator of global market risk: https://extremerisk.org/

Not just good, but precise indicator actually. I am waiting for the spike to occur. smile.gif

No worries lah bro.

If market crash earlier, I will still have cash to buy. I already park money in IBKR since a few months back with opening orders at low prices for my favourite counters. The ones I use to buy T-bills are "separate monies".

I organize my cash flow well. biggrin.gif Crash today buy using IB's money, crash later buy using IB's money + T-bill's proceeds.

-----------------

I would say market is complacent today rather than "thinking differently". Clearly, the spread of S-REITs above SG 10-year SGS is not enticing at all, just some 1-2% p.a. premium.

But it seems like we still have ample liquidities sloshing around, so not much pressure yet. Check Micro-Mechanics and VICOM, they also went down recently, but VICOM still barely yields 4% p.a. Micro-Mechanics can have more profit opportunities given its illiquidity but that only comes during crisis.
*
To the first part of your write-up above,... if you are confident of your equities-knowledge, you shld apportion more into IBKR, rather than buying T-bills. If you know what is happening out there, you would know REIT dividends would always yield more returns than T-bills. REITs have capital gains too, but not T-bills.

I have taken profit on Vicom earlier before it split,... and will never look back.

Your updates here are highly appreciated, bro,... thumbsup.gif

I used to own SIAEC many years ago when I first started in the SGX. Later on, I discovered that I am a divvy investor. And I discovered that these companies will not try their best to give out dividends. So, I dropped them,....

I also dropped SATS and SIA around those times,... I remembered,... I once collected $1.00 per share of dividend from SIA,... then after that I divested,... many years ago.

Why do you think "these companies" won't try their best to give out dividends? Temasek is their main shareholder, surely Temasek wants the cash flows from "these companies" to recoup its investment costs and thus to be paid to SG taxpayers.

Keeping cash in companies only makes sense unless the business can be grown further, at leat that's what I think, so why would "these companies will not try their best to give out dividends"?
*
For one, these co's can only give out dividends from profits. Secondly, I believed Temasek and GIC are more keen to see these companies grow than to receive dividends from them,...

Engineering, tourist, semi-con, energy etc. businesses are very cyclical, therefore dividend paying are not constants

.... I've always wondered why would people buy Hospitality REITs,.. I know that such REITs are doing well today because of the reopening in SG, but still, this won't be like, resilient,... when number of tourists start to dwindle, the rental collection will drop and the REVPAR follows, creating price competition among the hotels. When there are problems, eg,.. the pandemic recently, the first to suffer would be the hotels, hence the Hospitality REITs.

On another note,... one semicon company has been paying out resiliently,.. UMS,... and it gives out bonus shares once every few years. hmm.gif

DBS looks kind of stellar. 3Q NII jumped 23% q-o-q with NIM reaching 1.9%. ROE at record 16.3%, that sounds like pre-2008 levels...

Yes 36 cents dividends.

I am a bit worried about the CET-1 ratio, which continue to drop to 13.8%.

---------------------------------

I don't think you hold SingPost...  tongue.gif

Logistics supported them but post and parcel dragged the results down. Property stable.

But ya they pay 0.18 cents per share dividends.
*
Okay, bro,... tq for above summaries.

For DBS, if the NII continues to climb, soon the CET1 Ratio will improve,... no problem,... Only thing is, they may not be able to increase the dividend next year,... which I am hoping them to. I am still thinking of buying more,... but I'd be averaging-up if I do so. My hldg price is now : $24.78. Then my yield will drop.

I used to hold a lot of Singpost ,any years ago,... till they reduced the dividend,.. I recalled,... Then I took my profits. Big chunk,.... and you are right. No more SPost today.

Again, tq for your summaries. I'll return the favour someday,.... biggrin.gif

I post those results for reference. We will have another round of data for 4-week and 12-week next Wednesday, one day before the last day to submit for next week's T-bill bid.

Uhmm... I think you are an HNWI... So you can just contact any primary dealers and buy via them.  biggrin.gif Minimum amount is still 1000 SGD, but not sure whether the PDs will charge you "exorbitant" fees to process your bids.
Oh your holding price around 25. You didn't "average down" in March/April 2020?
*
Thank you, bro,.. for the MAS Bonds as reference,... I was hoping,... you'd say,.. I can buy them on my own,... biggrin.gif,... thank you on using the PDs,... err,... I've never asked to buy MAS bonds, but if they force me to buy minimum 250K,... I think no-lar,... I better reserve my bullets to enter REITs and shares,...

$23+ was my 'averaged-down price' frpm way back in 2020,.... biggrin.gif,....... my price was at $28+, I think.. before the pandemic started,... then I averaged-up because I couldn't find anything worthy to buy.

Maybank SG to Maybank MY.

No bro,... no issue,... I have remitted many times,... no problem. But to get better rates, use CIMB Sg to CIMB Msia,... Maybank's exchange rate is not too good,...

Uncle Hansel, seriously, can't you just click on that link and verify yourself...

Next time I am gonna charge you 10 SGD per confirmation request... laugh.gif

Yes, revenue went up across all segments yoy and qoq except broadband qoq declined 1.2%.

On mobile side, prepaid subscribers grew 39k qoq and 115k yoy due to gradual travel recovery from tourists' segment as a result of the re-opening of bordersw from 2Q 2022 onwards.

But operating expenses increased faster than revenue qoq and yoy. Marketing expenses, staff costs, utilities cost etc. went up. EBITDA went down and FCF isn't looking good too.
*
Ok bro,... hehehe,.. biggrin.gif

I feel if you confirmed, whether I'm right or wrong,... the knowledge and concepts will stick in my mind, compared to I read myself,... biggrin.gif

So,... I'm right abt the re-opening,... but wrong abt the roaming revenue,... it's the prepaid subscribers that played a big role in revenue increase. hmm.gif

Can-lar,... next time, I'll be able to analyse the telco industry better after experiencing this from bro TOS.

laugh.gif bro, I literally just "copy" the results out from the slides...

And I have not yet graduated from uni, no certificates and no accreditions. I find it funny I can make you "stick" to certain concepts.

Anyway, with you words I think moving towards finance is the right choice for me. I may do a winter internship in a HK branch of a mainland Chinese bank later in December. I won't be able to make it to SG as the pass issuances needs time, unfortunately. Need to see if I have better luck next year.
*
Am very happy here to be able to contribute to the success of your career, bro.... thumbsup.gif I wished you the best in your internship.

Tell you something,... whatever yuo have picked up thus far,... no accreditations nor certificates will give you any advantage in learning these, the skills yuo have learnt here could only be picked-up from what you have been doing.
