QUOTE(Hansel @ Jun 28 2016, 10:46 AM) To me, Silverlake Axis is a timebomb. The majority shares are owned by one man. If he ever decides to 'makan' investors, well, honestly, I don't think our SGX and our MAS can stop him. Investing in SAL is like investing into the health, well-being and contentedness of this one man. Ex-IBMers in Malaysia and Singapore who have worked with him back in the 1980s would know well the genius in him,... Beware,.... i agree.. this stock hv to monitor closely.

Monday can standby grab DBS or KEPPEL CORP? http://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-...rket#xtor=CS1-3JUL 29, 20165:50 AM Singapore SWIBER Holdings sent shock waves through the offshore marine, banking and stock markets on Thursday after it applied to the courts to be wound up. The move battered the share prices of several O&M counters and sent analysts scurrying to update their reports on companies in the sector. Among banks, DBS appears to bear the heaviest burden with an exposure of S$700 million to the Swiber group. In addition to DBS, the major creditor banks to Swiber are Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, Citibank and Deutsche Bank. Citi said that its exposure was minimal and manageable. UOB also said that its exposure was manageable. http://www.businesstimes.com.sg/stocks/hot...knock-on-effectThis post has been edited by elea88: Jul 30 2016, 10:23 AM

Coz my SG portfolio i hardly sell. Preferance will be those few times div per year instead of 1 time. I top up SHENG SHIONG regularly..since 2013.. .and my cap increases faster than div collected. But then If i do not sell. i am just looking at the paper gain. Money not in pocket. the other non reits I hv is: SINCE 2013/14 UMS GLOBAL INV NERATEL SHENG SHIONG SINCE 2015 SINGTEL M1 - HUGE LOSS IN CAPITAL SINCE 2016 OCBC KEPPEL CORP

QUOTE(TSOM @ Aug 26 2016, 01:40 AM) sorry to hijack this thread, what trading platform/which brokerage do you use? Does anyone have any experience with Saxo Capital Markets trading platform?? thinking of going to SG to set up a bank account and a trading account. U better check requirements before you go to SG. I heard its not so easy now. I did mine year 2013 with DBS bank and DBS VICKERS. whole procedure opening both the accounts can be done in about 1 to 2 hours.... and all on same floor, same building.

today Singapore TELCO all drop.
At 0.4% its size, Singapore wants more phone carriers than China
By Bloomberg / Bloomberg | September 2, 2016 : 7:13 AM MYT Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version Translated by Google Translator: SINGAPORE (Sept 2): Singapore&rsquo s population may be 0.4% the size of China&rsquo s but the tiny city-state may soon host a larger number of carriers than the world&rsquo s largest mobile-phone market.
The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore said Thursday it received applications for what would be the Lion City&rsquo s fourth licence to operate a mobile-phone carrier. The idea is that increased competition would bring down phone bills, improve services and help Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong step closer to turning Singapore into a &ldquo Smart Nation.&rdquo
That may come at the expense of existing carriers including Singapore Telecommunications, which has said there&rsquo s no need to bring in a new player in the face of what&rsquo s already a saturated market. At 148%, Singapore has the second-highest proportion of mobile subscribers relative to its population in Asia, according to World Bank data. Only Hong Kong has a higher penetration rate.
Based on more recent figures in Singapore, which has fewer than 6 million residents, Singtel dominates with a market share of 50%, followed by StarHub&rsquo s 27% and M1. taking the rest, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. That&rsquo s the same number of carriers splitting the market in China, which has more than 1.3 billion people.
Despite its home market&rsquo s diminutive size, Singtel has become one of the largest phone carriers in the region in terms of market value after building up stakes of operators in bigger markets such as India, Thailand, the Philippines and Africa.
Among companies that submitted bids for the mobile license were MyRepublic, a local Internet service provider backed by French billionaire Xavier Niel and Indonesia&rsquo s Sinar Mas Group, as well as AirYotta, a wireless company led by Chief Executive Officer Michael DeNoma, former head of consumer banking at Standard Chartered Plc, according to separate statements from the companies. A unit of Australia&rsquo s TPG Telecom also submitted a bid, according to the IDA.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Sep 28 2016, 11:21 PM) INDONESIA - that word scares me. reminds me of not-so-long-ago fret's riardy - one comment "we may move to jakarta exchange" cause the stock to tumble 20%. and no one need to answer for such irresponsible statements, not even sgx. u wonder if that was some form of insider trading - to bring down the price and buy it up yrself. Fullerton http://www.sharesinvestcoach.com/taking-a-...ration-limited/is this Indonesia Owned? I still looking for info.
