Crossover 405K UHD 40 inch 4K 60Hz
RM2800 including shipping.

Qnix UHD4020R Curved
40 inch 4K curved
Released September 2016
RM3100 including shipping.

Due to requests from this thread, I made this Group Buy post
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=73&t=3717335

It's not really a group buy, since I think if I do group all the monitors and send them in 1 package,
it will get taxed.
Right now, I had checked with customs and they say that as long as the item is less than RM500,
you won't get taxed for it. rclxm9.gif

This is the monitor I am currently using. 27 inch IPS display. Same LG panel as Apple Cinema Display.
There are tons of reviews of these korean monitors on the internet.

REVIEW by a buyer

QUOTE(Molestermau5 @ Oct 29 2015, 02:54 PM)
So i bought a Yamakasi q2703 from ts and I thought you guys may want some feedback. In total it cost RM 865.00 total including shipping and no tax at all. Recieved the item in roughly a week, shipping took 4 days. NO DEAD PIXELS. AT ALL, NONE THAT I CAN PICK UP, but there is dust stuck under the panel. No big deal can always open up the panel and clean it up if it really bothers me.

To be honest, the monitor casing does look fairly premium, then you turn it around and use the stand and then you realise that you really want a stand/mount. The monitor shakes even when I don't touch it, just using my cieling fan causes it to shake. But then again, I paid 865 ringgit for a 1440p S-IPS panel, so really, no big deal. There were some scuffs on the base, again no big deal.

The image quality is amazing and honestly, its a steal. I took some photos, but its with a shitty phone cam, just to give you an idea of how it looks, as well as some photos of the dust in the panel itself. (http://imgur.com/a/2fa75) < album

BTW, i wasnt able to overclock it, it couldn't manage an overclock of 70 fps, and was just too lazy to try anything else. All in all, nice seller and nice item. 10/10 would buy again.

If you guys want, you can buy it from ebay too actually.
Found this link.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-Refurbished-A...=item5d57ba729c

The problem with ebay is that you might get taxed since got other user said that when he bought from ebay, they declare the item as $50 and he got taxed RM500 for a RM1100 item.

You could use this if you want. I am just doing this for community request.

What sort of interfaces does it have?
*
Only Dual-dvi for this model.
No OSD, only brightness control.
This monitor needs to be paired with desktop with graphics card that can output dual dvi.
Almost all laptops except for Apple Macbooks with thunderbolt to dual dvi adapter CANNOT output to this monitor.
Meaning either you have macbooks or you need a desktop to output to this monitor.

Any specific specs?

I would like to check with you, the screen is it glossy or matte?
*
Glossy.
But you can mod it and remove the mirror, so you get less reflection and the panel itself is directly exposed to air.

A bit risky ~
My friend did it and then make a wooden bezel for it.

looks cheap.. is it good to play with ps4?
*
Can PS4 output Dual link dvi @ 2560x1440?
The monitor does not support scaling resolution.
So, the device that is outputting must be powerful enough / be able to output 1440p natively.

EDIT: Just googled a bit.
Turns out PS4 maximum output resolution is 1080p.
Only way to make it work with the monitor is to output 720p on PS4 and then use an active DVI-D converter (which is quite expensive)

And I only have cimb account. He hehe.  Real noon here. And I have a question .  What kind of guarantee will I have about the  panel quality? You said you lm check for dead pixels, but what will your tolerance  be,  manufacturers say up to 5dead pixels is OK. Are you following similar tolerance?  And if panel is defective,  upon delivery,  will you replace it?
*
I will test the monitor myself. Maybe take a picture and send to you?
I don't do replacement. If you want you can buy it from ebay,
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_n...+monitor&_frs=1

Cimb can transfer to maybank no problem.

Not to seem ungrateful, but what's the point of testing the monitors then?  I'm just confused la. Just nervous la.
*
I test the monitor first before sending out.
This way I can send it back to the gmarket seller, if not satisfied.

Since I am in Korea, I can't do any replacements or warranty for you. But based on my and other user's experience the monitor will work fine.

I am being transparent here.

You could buy from the ebay link as they might be able to help with returns or you could buy from the gmarket link and use Hoyoyo service to ship it to you. smile.gif

Right now, I am just providing a service for anyone who want. rclxms.gif

nowadays no people buy shimian anymore coz cannot overclock
they prefer Qnix because can overclock to 120hz

but actually 1440p monitors are 4 years ago trend liao
nowadays trend is buy cheap 4K monitor from Korea such as wasabimango or crossover

FYI: I have 2 yamakasi catleap 1440p that can be overclocked to 120hz
*
Yes. I know.
Replied to another user about this a few posts up.

The reason for shimian is that shimian is still available while the other brands are out of stock.
Bear in mind that these monitors are out of production since 2012.

The wasabimango and crossover or any other 30inch and below 4K panels are not IPS panel, and most are sourced from the same panels as Dell and Samsung, both of which have local distributors and they provide warranty. The price for some of them are actually quite similar, so there is no point in buying 4K from Korea IMO.

There are yamakasi at the same price, I could get that too. I went to the shop to select between shimian and yamakasi, not sure why but felt that the shimian monitor was slightly better.
Could've gotten the yamakasi if I knew that. I could go down to the shop and get another but that would mean I have to fork out money to buy another DVI-D adapter for my macbook...
No desktop right now.. Maybe could buy one next time for my brother. xD

EDIT: Just checked.. Wasabimango has IPS 4K but those are TV sized. 43 inches and above. Priced at 700,000+won
eBay sellls 27 inch 4K TN/VA panel, at 500+usd.

EDIT2: Saw your sig.. You went to KAIST? 천재네~~

QUOTE(Molestermau5 @ Oct 2 2015, 12:36 PM)
LOL that's what I was asking you.  I wanted to know if you would return the monitor if the panel wasn't good/defective. Haha hah.  Thanks man really appreciate it. I am quite interested but still want to look at other options.  Till when will you be in Korea?
*
A few years.

Qnix 2710 evo ii or Xstar can overclock and is still available (I think, last checked few months ago)
Yamakasi catleap only older versions (2A and 2B) can overclock, newer models cannot overclock
but all of that doesn't matter anyway because you are using macbook

Yes, there are many 4K IPS (wasabi mango and crossover) but 40 inches above
about 600,000 to 700,000won
But that is a norm nowadays

Yes I was at KAIST
*
I just checked.
IPS Qnix is out of stock. Left are new AH-VA units.
I had updated added the Qnix VA panel one in the post.

just to let u know the qnix u posted cannot be overclock
because it is MULTI version
any monitor with MULTI input cannot be overclock
or to be exact, it will frame skipping/dropping even if u supply 120hz to it

http://prod.danawa.com/info/?pcode=1962890&keyword=qx2710
this 1 is the old 1 and confirm can overclock by many people in overclock.net , but more expensive

http://prod.danawa.com/info/?pcode=3338039&keyword=qx2710
this 1 is new 1 and use PLS instead of IPS
it seems can overclock
but I cannot guarantee that
you need to search google and do some homework and check some forum posts
*
Updated the Qnix link dy.
I posted this because there were some interest by other forummers after I posted the review of Shimian.

Very interested.
But let me get this straight first. On the achiva shimian.

Its shimian. Its's IPS panel by LG. It great based on anandtech. Build is "meyhhh". Got to use dual dvi. Dont overclock. And its a refurbish set bought by you in S.Korea.

You'll check the monitor for any defects before sending it to buyer. If not that great, you be the one dealing with he online seller for replacement.

The monitor cost RM 552 and the shipping gonna cost RM330+RM50
Total of RM932.

Is that it.
*
Yes in fact for Molestermau5, I checked the monitor before sending, and the monitor was broken when it arrived at my house.
I returned it to the seller for replacement without extra charge.
I will take pictures and send it to you to check before I send.
There are a few other people that asked me for NEW 4K monitors too but those I ask for their permission before I open the box to check since those are new and unopened.
For used shimian, I open box and take picture and send to customer first, so that they can see if there are any dead-pixels.

The price is what you had stated.

I try to be as transparent as possible. I would say I am more or less a "taobao" agent for Korea that knows a bit more about monitors.

Thank you for your interest! thumbup.gif

Are there any korean IPS monitors 2560x1440/1600p without the glossy finish?

The glossyiness is kinda eye-hurting when there is other light in the room.

The glossiness of Shimian and Yamakasi can be fixed by taking of the front mirror..
I can try find other monitors but most Korean ones are glossy.
I think if 1080p should have matte panels somewhere.

S-IPS is a very dated tech. Can see ghost. Does it really make any difference if you overclock it when display itself cant catch up?

*
B400UHD HDX is still in stock in South Korea.
eBay no stock but it is still available in Korea.

Microboard B420 should be same panel as Wasabimango B420
Wasabimango B420 is RM2800 including shipping.

Thank you!
