We seems to get bad referee each UCL games. Against PSV referee failed to send off the horror tackle which broke both Shaw's legs. Last night a yellow card happy one. Strange though he didn't send off Schneidelin for 2nd bookable offence.

From the looks of it, not all is well yet. Yes, we finally scored. Yes, it's now officially 460 minutes since Sanchez put the ball past De Gea. Yes, there were more chances created against CSKA this morning. But those who watched United's game in full last few matches would know the reality. Was Scholes correct to accuse LVG of playing boring football? Yes. Was Kanchelskis correct when he said LVG is making the players play like robots? Yes. Is flair killed by LVG? Yes. Why I said so was because teams playing against us deploys more often than not the pressing game. Often you see when United has the ball, 2 or more opposition players would converge on him. That closes down space & a good observer would notice that this is not a problem if United's player has more freedom of expression. Right now the instruction seem to be, when in doubt pass it back or diagonally. Perhaps LVG feels that United doesn't have that type of player who can run down the flanks & crosses from the byline. There were flashes of it against CSKA with Young & Rojo. To be fair, they did produced something but then there's no poacher good enough in the box. So, do United need one more speedy winger & a poacher? Bale & Ibrahimovic seems to fit that criterias.

Joke aside, Rooney is about the only player guaranteed a start barring injury. When he does, it'll either be as the main striker or a no.10. Now, Mata is best as a no.10, a David Silva type of player. But he almost never plays as a no.10 under LVG. As it is with the current system, LVG likes 2 holding midfielder with combo of Bastian/Morgan/Carrick. My wish is that we get another solid central defender to supplement the improved Smalling & deploy one less holding midfielder so that we can have 2 advance midfielder. Herrera/Mata can be a bit more advance & since there's a de facto player which is Rooney plays the no.10. Martial leads the line. The flanks are a bit of a conundrum I think as we have a misfiring one (Memphis) & a sort of rookie (Lingaard). So, another raid on the transfer market is inevitable. One central defender, another established winger & if they're ready to splash the cash, a poacher. Dare we dream for a certain Polish centre forward?
