As recent years where telcos from Maxis, Digi, and Celcom. Are selling iPhones during their midnight queues, even during rain even. They seems to be a contract when buying these phones or not. For the pre-order program of iPhone 6 from Maxis last year, can you get your iPhone without a contract? So this rule might can be applied for this year iPhone 6S launch.

Not during initial launching anyway. I am interested to see if U Mobile will also get their 6S at the same time as Maxis, DiGi and Celcom though. It's about time another telco gate crashes the terrible trio, ha ha... This post has been edited by attw: Sep 27 2015, 10:43 AM

Depend on telco these days However I bought my ip5 directly from Celcom on day 3 of launch WITHOUT need to subscribe to their telco plans. It was officially announced not necessary to have any plan. Of course I had to pay full price for the phone.

i think you can. not sure on 6S.
i don't really remember what model already. i think i saw 4S, was it? by maxis. just pay full to buy it without contract. correct me if i'm wrong. it could be non-apple phone also. it's been too long.
but if you really want it, you can always find a buyer for the contract. i've seen a lot in garage sales, selling off the phone to get the iValue plans. i bought the contract too. as for the warranty, the guy that took the phone didn't contact me at all. so i'm guessing it's not based on contract owner, but the phone s/n or imei itself.

I think it depends on when. I'll be very surprised if Telco sells iPhone without contract on launch day.
