If it can fit within your budget, the XF 18-55mm is the one to go for. Most agree it is the best kit lens for ANY brand camera.

Of course this is if you intend to use the kit lens at all or will be using primes most of the time.

23mm is sharp, my favourite lens for portrait.

It depends what type of shots you intend to take...

If you are looking to get the X-T10 body & 18-55mm XF lens, it would be ridiculous to go for the cashback; the kit combination which will get you exactly the same thing costs less, even when you factor in the cashback.

I would think the cashback offer only makes sense if you were looking for something that didn't come in a kit package; eg. not looking for a zoom at all.

I bought my X-T1 with just 23mm then expanded to 18mm and a telezoom lens which I hardly use.
In love with prime lenses though mid-zoom lenses are convenient.

Purely my opinion: you will never be able to get the kit lens at the kit price ever again (talking about new lens). However cash back offers happen at least once a year.

The 18-55mm covers the 23mm field of view, although you lose 2.5 stops.

You sound like a seasoned photog, so most probably you know the kind of photography you concentrate on.

Definitely not enough to tahan. It depends on how you shoot, sometimes 1 battery can last me for 2 -3 hours.

Strongly recommend a spare (or even two!). Please don't compare with"normal" dSLRs as the electronic viewfinder also consumes power. Also based on the X-E1 I find that the moment the low battery indicator comes on, there's only a couple dozen shots before totally flat.

I haven't tried them myself, but a lot of people recommend the Wasabi compatible batteries. If I needed more I would go for them.

My one battery can tahan for one whole day or 1 1/2 days. X-T1 user here.
But I still have another battery as spare in bag and always interchange the battery.

I always carry 2 spares with my XE2.

Actually I'm really interested to know real users experience for 10-24mm, I found some on Google but would like to hear from you guys.

For a person who really likes big aperture hence I have the 23mm f/1.4 and 18mm f/2, how can I be convinced with a f/4 lens? I know it has OIS but does it really help a lot during low lighting?
