Just wanted to share my pictures during my Kathmandu trip earlier this year. all taken with XT-1 and 35 1.4, processed with Lightroom.
I've always been a very shy person, it was very hard for me to approach random strangers and ask them to pose for photos. However Nepalese are super friendly and down to earth, they don't shy away from cameras and will always smile for you. This is by far the most enjoyable trip I've experienced so far. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 1 2016, 09:10 PM) Lovely shots! Always wanted to take that kind of photos but I'm also very shy. Most of the time, I curi2 snap and run. haha that's quite funny actually. In Nepal, mostly those monks aka 'sadhu' at famous temples will ask for money before u can take their photos. One of them trying to con my friend RM100 for 1 photo! I found that the most easiest way to ask for a photo is to make an eye contact with them and then make a 'camera snap' gesture while smiling. More often than not they will nod in agreement. QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 2 2016, 04:02 PM) X-T2 looks good but I'm still not tempted enough, at least it hasn't crossed my mind to upgrade my X-T1. All depends on the price, if it good enough without me splurging a lot to top up from my X-T1, then I will consider to get one. for me the main selling point for upgrade is the joystick and AF points. if subject tracking can be improved then its awesome. Not something that I die-die must upgrade. I didn't even use the video recording on my X-T1, what's more with 4K recording, I will under utilize this function too. I like the 325 AF points, I think that's a lot more compared to X-T1 right? Will be announced in 5 days time, let's see. dual slot storage also enticed me as i shoot jpeg+raw most of the time. higher pixels? other than professional/studio work i dont think it matter to the majority of its user. but if the new sensor can significantly improve low light performance, then i'm sold |

QUOTE(DaddyO @ Jul 2 2016, 07:53 PM) thanks also thank you for your input. i did increased grain value to achieve that 'filmy' look, but i agree it's a bit messed up when zoomed in still trying to figure out how to achieve a subtle and pleasing grain effect. |
