I guess you know the focus and framing do shift a bit when pressing the shutter button, especially you are using the OVF. However the green box should give you sharp focus. I am using the first gen X100 and focusing speed is not what you want to live with, but i still get very high hit rate. Here are the thing i do

1. Set the AF point to the largest and use on the middle AF point, focus and recompose.
2. Step down aperture to f4 or 5.6, f2 is soft, no bokeh to me so dont bother shooting wide open
3. use EVF, should get a fairly high hit rate since it does not have the focus frame shifting issue here. You get same amount of shots using either OVF/EVF, experience that done that and found that using rear screen can get you more shots...

How come you use 16:9 in portrait?

Err...I actually prefer his original shot, haha. Like I said depends on how different people sees it. Your cropping it just makes it look less spacious and too balanced e.g. the sky and sea are too 50/50, IMO.

Same. Nothing to fight about, different people, different view. I actually like Sniper's flickr shots so he may has his points.

Sadly speaking even those talks also had reduced a lot over the years, smartphone improves our lives' usual routine. These days even some serious photography can be done with our smartphone. I have not really done that yet simply because my smartphone photography skill still sucks compared to using a proper camera. I admit for every day what I see and eat shots are taken with my phone.
This section has become quieter compared to its heyday, few years back.

Well, that's another debate which I don't want to go in. Note 5 and probably the phone I have-LG V10 are not too bad compared to iPhones or could be better. Still, that's another discussion.
That said I'm using both OS.

I'm not a fan of converters, will prefer lenses to serve the purpose. I always feel that converters will degrade the IQ of photos.
However, a check via Google shows that it is a good stuff.
Will wait for the owners (if any) to comment here.

I had that as well. One of my fav cameras of all time... my gateway drug to gear hoarding 
2 cents from my vast experience of buying stuffs I don't need... just master what you have first before distracting yourself with something else.
