QUOTE(DaddyO @ Jul 17 2016, 07:34 PM) Err...I actually prefer his original shot, haha. Like I said depends on how different people sees it. Your cropping it just makes it look less spacious and too balanced e.g. the sky and sea are too 50/50, IMO. Maybe I don't like empty spaces but sure, to each their own.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 17 2016, 08:17 PM) Sadly speaking even those talks also had reduced a lot over the years, smartphone improves our lives' usual routine. These days even some serious photography can be done with our smartphone. I have not really done that yet simply because my smartphone photography skill still sucks compared to using a proper camera. I admit for every day what I see and eat shots are taken with my phone. This section has become quieter compared to its heyday, few years back. Ditto that. Last time got quite a few gatherings too.

QUOTE(JasonW13 @ Jul 17 2016, 09:14 PM) i used to have a canon s90 Point n Shoot before i acquired X100s. somehow skill not good enough. got to brush up more. I had that as well. One of my fav cameras of all time... my gateway drug to gear hoarding QUOTE(JasonW13 @ Jul 17 2016, 09:20 PM) well...coming back to the topic. is TCL-X100 helpful? i need to save for long to get it. Close to RM 1k right? haha... 2 cents from my vast experience of buying stuffs I don't need... just master what you have first before distracting yourself with something else.

QUOTE(ky_guy @ Jul 18 2016, 12:03 PM) guys....in terms of shooting experience...is x70 better or the xt10? not a pro photographer here though... Apples and oranges. X70's more like a smartphone on steroids without the phone functionality.. something always with you.. to take selfies and social stuff.

QUOTE(kelvinling @ Jul 18 2016, 01:00 PM) X70 has a fixed aperture while X-T10 gives you versatility to change different lens. I think the most important question you gotta ask yourself is what do you want to shoot? What are you using it for? Fixed lens... not aperture

QUOTE(boiboi95 @ Jul 18 2016, 04:02 PM) Hi sifus, I am going to get into casual photography (at the same time I'm going for the UK exchange year soon so a lot of landscape scenic pictures will be taken), am eyeing on the X-A2. Will that do me good? It will just be a casual hobby am not planning to go deep into it. In this case, something that fits in your pocket ie less excuse of not bringing it out would work better. Like the Fuji X70 or one of the RX100.

QUOTE(boiboi95 @ Jul 18 2016, 04:27 PM) Thanks for the input! But then X70 is a compact no? I would prefer a mirrorless though. And I don't think the excuses of not bringing it out would be applicable to me (?) The X70 is the essentially the exact same thing as a XT10... without the ability to change the lens... ie you'll have to live with the field of view similar to a smartphone. XA2 on the other hand has got a more traditional bayer sensor compared with X-Trans sensor of other Fujis and of course the ability to change lens. But since you said that you don't forsee going deep into the hobby, the 16-50 f3.5-5.6 kit len while decent, is nowhere near as capable as what the X70 can do. If you're open to the idea of getting more lenses in the future, then my 2 cents is get a X-T10 or X-E2/S instead since the XA2's form factor makes it feel very unbalanced with heavier lens ie any other lens besides the XC kit lens, 27mm and the 18mm.

QUOTE(boiboi95 @ Jul 19 2016, 12:14 AM) I've gotten myself a rucksack, and most probably will stick with 1/2 lenses. Most probably will get a pouch and put into one of the rucksack's compartment i think. Thanks for the heads up What I do is use those cheap foam water tumbler holder which I got from thrift shop as lens protection. It works well and only a fraction of the cost on what I would otherwise pay for a proper one. Something like this but cheapo plain black type QUOTE(boiboi95 @ Jul 18 2016, 11:10 PM) I'll think it through, I would loved to get X-T10 if I have the budget but unfortunately it does not fit into, especially when I need to allocate other accessories like tripods bags etc. I am more prefer mirrorless than a compact anytime but I'll see how it goes. I am comparing sony's a5100 and Fuji's X-A2 all these while but until now I still couldn't get a firm verdict myself. It's gonna take sometime before I'll take my final decision For system cameras... buy into the system ie the lens available rather than just the camera body. Good luck. Random shot last night. It might not be the fastest focussing, it might be the oldest lens in the system but damn I love the 35mm f1.4... CA and all. OOC DSCF0102 by vmwt, on Flickr

QUOTE(DaddyO @ Jul 19 2016, 09:54 AM) Finding an alternative as lens/camera bag is fine but need to be careful with fine linen or particles produced by cheap/ not appropriate bags that deterioriate overtime. Proper cam bag still better if you can find a reasonable one. The material is akin to memory foam so there's no lint and what not. Besides, its only used when I bring out the lens. Otherwise they're kept in dry cabinet.
