[cool.gif[COLOR=red]Hi , I'm getting a pentiumD with 533mhz FSB <INTEL = 133MHZ>

I plan on overclocking this proc to 3.Oghz for now , with future plans to somewhere around 3.8ghz.

FSB = 150
MULTIPLIER = 20

150x20= 3ghz

From my understanding , a DDRII533 should be more than enough for oc'ing it to

4GHZ = 200 <FSB> x 20 <MULTIPLIER>

A DDRII533 is 266mhz so should suffice..

OR NOT lol please advice

Getting tomorrow biggrin.gif

Mobo is Asus P5ND2 SLI <Nforce4chipset>
Getting a zalman CNPS9700 HSF too.

I fully understand the other bits , just the RAM.

I chose to go with pentium D coz Intel seemed to be clearer for me in terms of Overclocking and it's limits. AMD i'm clueless lol

going back to my RAM question.

A DDR400 will support a Proc with 800mhz FSB , and will run at synch right?

So to get <for example> 4ghz from a pentiumD with 533mhz<133> FSB , i will need to "UP" it's FSB to 800mhz<200>and match it with a DDR400 or DDRII533<lowest DDRII>

yea?

So I basically get the performance of a dual core 38OOghz with the cheapest Athlon64x2 , haha i'm seriously converting to AMD now.
What's a good overclocking Mobo for the AM2 ? *OMG* At 2.5ghz it will rival the 48OO+ , WICKED :>

hey guys , what's a good overclocking board for under RM3OO

My plan precisely biggrin.gif , by the way i have a budget of RM3OO for a graphic card. which one is best?

Colourful 7300GT EXTREME 128MB
8 pipe line
128 BIT
500 Core clock
1500 memory clock

OR

Colourful 7300GT 256MB DDRII
8 pipe line
128 BIT
4OO Core clock
8OO memory clock

I asked around and everyone seems to recommend the "GT" version. and So far the Nvidia 7300 series "GT" fits my budget. If there are better alternatives , please recommend them to me.

Will the 128MB over 256MB make a big difference? If so , I should get the GC with more RAM but slightly less Core clock / mem clock?

Also , does more pipe line equals more performance <Frames per sec>?

For example :

Winfast 7300GT EXTREME 256DDR
12 pipe line
128 BIT
520 Core clock
1400 memory clock

firstly i think there is 7300GT ddr3
so better go for dat one
coz ddr3 speed is much more higher than ddr2

of course if u can increase a bit of ur budget
go for the 7600gs or 7600gst
much better card wit 12 pipeline  rclxms.gif

Arigato~ Colorful 7600GT 256MB DDR3 looks nice.

The card i'm getting is Colorful 73OOGT 256MB DDRII - RM290 <budget>

8Pipe line , 128Bit , 400core/800memory clock.

By duing simple mathematics , It beats the ATi X1600Pro

400x8= Fill Rate 3200 mega pixel / sec
8OOx{128/8{ = Memory bandwidth 128OO Megabyte/sec

Not bad right? It'll play Battlefield 2142 in Mid settings after my RAM upgrade.

I will get the Colorful 7600GT 256MB DDR3 - RM505 , next time haha.

Edit : Will getting a card with more core clock speed and less RAM <256vs128> increase performance? or decreaases it? lol can I susbstitute the lack of RAM on the graphic card...no lol never mind

7300gt 256mb ddr2 for 290? i suggest better get galaxy 7300gt 128mb ddr3 or winfast 7300gt extremt 128mb ddr3... they are around 300 only and should perform better...
im using 6600gt alrdy plying battlefield at high setting with medium shader... 7300 will be better ^^
btw... this is ram and fsb thread ler...

shocking.gif I thought 6600gt beats 73OO and 73OOGS and roughly the same as 73OOGT

What's the performance difference/boost in getting a DDR3 anyways? It's the memory bandwidth I'm guessing?
