Hi guys
Sharing on after warranty maintenance on my 408T.

1. Aircon compressor faulty

Symptom before compressor faulty is aircon sometimes not cold at all and requires multiple ON/OFF to get it working. Happen for about 2 months and then compressor totally kaput.

SC lead tech in sg petani told new cost would be around 5k (confirmed by one of our forumer here) and suggest a shop that can do this. So i went there and replacement done within 2-3hours. Very skillful guy and know what he's doing.

He agreed to give 1yr warranty if replace compressor together with condenser. Total cost RM2100 for compressor+condenser+aircon gas+labor. Parts used all Denso.

Contact Ah Hui 01642788101,
Its just a small accessories shop. Company Ride In Style at Taman Seri Wang Sg Petani kedah.

2. Gear knob suddendly broken.
Google and found out this guy facebook selling peugeot items. The knob price rm64 almost no different compared to original. I also purchase rim nut cap as i lost one cap. Bank in the money and received the items the next day. Knob just need to push down to install.

Contact Farid 0192626135. Company Redzynec.

Anyway,

Need opinions from other owners here regarding these issues:

1. Anyone ever have problem starting car in the morning as in cold start? The engine sounds sluggish.

My car already 3.5yrs. Normally upon cold start, the engine will rev to about 1200+rpm and will go down to 800rpm when engine warmed up. But now the rpm fluctuates momentarily with the sluggish sound and then remain at 1000rpm.

I wonder if this is just battery issue or the HPFP or anything else?

2. The braking sound at rear. I have changed to TRW brake pads but still the sound persist. Maybe need to skim the brake disc. But have anyone consider to change brake pad n disc set to something more superior quality?

Appreciate your thoughts.

Tks for the gear knob contact. That is handy to have, for sure SC will charge cut throat price!

As for your startup problem, from the symptoms my guess is HPFP about to packup! Pls let us know after rectification. Btw what mileage on your car?
*
Mileage just about to clock 40k, age 3.5 years.

Dont worry too much, its just that problems are raised here to get feedback from others. Also valueable information for other users that might came across same issue so they wont panic.

You can only see good things in facebook where people show off their car pictures. But whats the point discussing on those pictures right?

Hi,
Since ur car is 3.5years old. Why you dont claim your compressor under extended warranty?
*
The original owner did not drive car that often and skip maintenance every 6months as mileage very2 low.

In order for me to get warranty transferred to me, i need to PAY for ownership transfer with peugeot and they cant guarantee i can claim for warranty due to the poor service record.

Be ALERT of your temperature sensor!

Last week when i stopped my car, i heard water leaking sound and saw a lot of water dripping from the engine bay to the floor. When i open the hood, coolant level already empty. Water burst out from the coolant cap and there are boiling sound from inside the engine. Luckily this happen to me while the engine already stopped.

Next morning, i topup coolant/water level and start the engine, everything seems ok except the temperature sensor didnt go up at all. So i drove the car to SC. During driving temp reading fluctuate from 0 to 90degc. When arrive at SC, the tech mention temp sensor issue. Then i ask him, should there be a recall of it? Then he checked yes there is recall for my car for temp sensor and water pump.

The thing is, i believe this recall issue has long been issue for older cars. They didnt take the effort to check my car recall status during normal servicing last 2 months. Why wait until serious failure occur then only talk about recall?!!

When your temperature sensor wrongly show lower temperature, the engine system will think the engine already cool therefore it will stop water circulation and lead to high temperature.

Anyway just as a guide, my car temp sensor has been hovering around 70 to 90 degC for quite a few months already. Just take note that its a sign that your temp sensor got issue. And better personally ask them to check for recall during your service visit and insist for appointment.

Shyte. I just checked my tyres 4612. Means it's from 2012? Can claim?
*
My friend also like that can claim. For me this is bad integrity issue with Naza. If customer keep quiet about the tyres then they get away. If customer open their mouth, they will entertain to change. This mean they acknowledge brand new car need brand new tyres but choose to keep quiet about it in the first place.

Hi Guys,

Today my 408T encountered sudden power loss for a while n check engine light pop up including the error msg on MFD screen " Engine Fault Repair Needed"......

After a while, everything become normal, but error msg still there....

Curious what prob is this......

I nvr drive till my fuel tank trigger empty warning....but donnu abt previous owner.....scary since i m going to cameron next month....

But all the while i m using Ron95..sometimes mix with ron97...last i refuel with ron97 at kuala kangsar petron.....till nw nvr refuel.....
*
Thats never a good sign. Just walk in to nearest SC to get it checked. They'll check it for free. They hook up the computer and can get detail info about the fault. Any repair/replacement required of course not free.

Ron 95/97 no issue.

Water Pump for turbo they'll change if no longer got warranty?
*
My 408 turbo already void warranty. Changed the temperature sensor early january and also water pump last tuesday without any cost. Material n manpower free.

If u keep quiet about the temperature sensor and fuel pump, they will also keep quiet. Force them to check in front of you.

temperature sensor also have problem?
*
Yep, these two items are under recall for some of the earlier batch. But new stock also high possibility come from older batch.

These doesnt mean that your temp sensor and water pump already faulty. It may be a problem soon. Better dont wait, just ask them to check upon next visit.

Just bought the items under spare parts promotions.
Wiper set rm140
HPFP rm1000

And they checked for my recall list again and have 4 new recall items. Previously checked on Jan16 only have recall for temp sensor and water pump. Now have 4 more. So total item for my car 6.

Good to know that peugeot is taking their QC issue seriously by having these recalls.

can i know how u check this thing?

This was checked by service centre and they allow me to take photo for my record.

The centre at sungai petani is closing down and they request me to make appointment at Penang for the recalls job.

Hey guys, my 408 turbo 1 year old recently its air-cond is malfunctioning, the symptoms are as below:

1. Start the car, turn on the air-cond, got fan but no cold air, drive a few km cold air suddenly comes out.
2. Start the car, turn on the air-cond, got cold air, but after few minutes no more cold air then after few restart of the air cond, the cold air comes back.

However, it happens randomly, what could be the cause and how do i explain to SC if the problem happens randomly.

Thank you
*
Based on my experience, soon your aircond compressor gonna kaput. Maybe can still last for 1-2months time.

No harm to drive the car even if the aircon compressor fail. Just go to nearest SC. The tech might be able to confirm faulty compressor if got abnormal sound.

I found an accessories shop that sells 28" wipers for RM45.

I'm just wondering if 2x28" will cause issues because it looks really close when the wipers are about halfway up.
*
I've been using 28+28 setup for 18months no problem. Now switch back to 26+30 as last month got spare part (inc wiper) offer from peugeot. Offer price was rm150.

Hi.
I did service 80k km in SC, mileage now is 73 K km on odometer. This time is major service right or normal service ? Can anyone answer me please ?

To replace water pump and belt need to leave the car for two days... no car very difficult to me...
*
Major service every 60km or 36months whichever comes first if during warranty period.

Water pump and timing chain for 408 some got recall. But if you are using belt, then yours is 408 2.0 NA

SC said currently my condenser is alright so couldn't make the claim. My car just enter the extended warranty so SC said couldn't file for unbroken parts. Must prove that the part is truly spoilt to make claim. SC just advice me to change on my own expenses so that in future new compressor won't be affected by old condenser. Sigh.....
Thanks you for your feedback  smile.gif  smile.gif  smile.gif

I suggest dont replace condenser and take the risk. If your compressor broke down again within extended warranty period, u can still claim.

If it broke outside warranty, can replace both compressor and condenser at outside workshop. Last year i replaced my compressor + condenser + labor, all cost rm2000. Compressor n condenser from Denso. No issue up to now. But that shop in kedah not sure price around KL. Contact Ah Hui 0164278810.

What is the enhancement package you are referring to?
*
Peugeot call it "enhancement" which is a better word to represent "recalls".

Anyway its great that they admit to some issues faced by customers and willing to do the recalls FOC.

Cars have different recall items depend on your car batch. Just contact any SC to check if you have any recall list.

The SC where i did my recall was generous enough to provide me with this list
