Total damage for timing chain replacement + 70k service at Nasim Balakong.. It's time to void the 4th & 5th year warranty.. Any recommended Peugeot specialist around Cheras & Kajang for "performance tuning"??

May I know any reason U had to replace the timing chain? 70k KM seems too low for the timing chain.

The engine was sound like diesel engine while driving. According to the technician, the chain was knocking against the cover and cannot be repair. Unfortunately that mine was just over 3 yrs and therefore no longer covered under warranty.

I was also being told to do the engine decarb coz the carbon buildup was quite bad. They mentioned the enhanced version of 408T engine does not really fixed the carbo build up problem but somehow delaying the buildup. Eventually it's still happened for all GDI engine.

I was charged for a can of additive (RM196.00) to be added in during my next full tank fuel pump.

Yes. That's the instruction given.. Wondering how much if buying from outside?

Fuel additice AKA carbon remover? Do the service adviser get any deposit by promoting that?

That is sad. u have to use it 1 time only?or thers an interval for it? I guess we better do it as well as preventive maintenance.

Hi all, would like to check if anyone experiencing whistle sound from the front driver wheel when turning the wheel? It is very obvious if in basement parking... when to SC and they said it is common as most of the car has it. But my friend who own the same model doesn't encounter it which make me feel odd.. appreciate you advice on it. Many thanks

Think it's from the steering instead of wheel.. I've been bugged with this issue since day 1 and non of the visited workshop can solve this issue. Anyone got it fixed?

The above is quality of the latest Camry hybrid. Quite a number of the same complaint.

I think Peugeot today has come a long way. My car is on 4th year now. No rattles or squeaks. Everything is still tight and feels as good as new. Have had 3 minor issues which were completely solved by SC. No reoccurrence of those issues.

Peugeot today is certainly much better quality and it appears even better than the mighty Toyota! Peugeot blue box has been able to solve all warranty issues. Good to see PBB is making a huge effort. Well done and I hope PBB continues to improve towards customer support & service!

hello 408 owners!

i am considering to get a new 408 with the current promotion 5 years free service for parts and labour. i've been reading the last few pages and searching this forum for approximate maintenance cost from users here that have been enjoying their pug for 4-5 years to estimate roughly potential saving i can make from the free service promo. would be good to have replies from you guys. test drive 408 few weeks back and was grinning all the way and cant sleep well ever since.

currently driving an 8 year old proton savvy amt version. very fun to drive but less reliable as shes getting old now.

My 5008 is having the same diesel traktor sound , initially tot is the timing chain. End out foremen found its the denso aircond compressor spoilt. I tot japenise parts should last , its only 53k km . That alone costs 1.9k !!!

I know the can't sleep feeling after test drive of the turbo... hehehe! I had done a lot of research before testing the car. The older Prince had a lot of problems and I was really only interested on the NA. After the 1st km on the THP, threw all logic out of the window. I was like under a spell, signed up on the spot. 4th year now, still under the spell.... hehehe!

Each normal service is just under $500. Major service on 3rd year is about $3500+ or-. On this new promo, maintenance saving is just under $9K. Present promo car price is $99k, which means your real price is $90k.

Wow what a fantastic car for $90k. Even the NA on intro was 109k! Go grab it bro, great car great price , you will enjoy this car tremendously!

thanks for the info bro, 9k of servicing cost for 5 yrs is a lot of savings actually.

promo price is 99k? i thought after 16k rebate will be 103k? i still havent decide yet but the numbers, both specs and price, are leaning towards me signing the dotted lines. we will see.

There has been a number of promos. Since the facelift model is about to be launched it's more like clearance sale now. I'm pretty sure I saw $99k sometime this month. You can always try your luck with the SA, say you saw the $99k promo!
