My 408 NA is almost completing two months in Glemarie SC. Temperature fluctuates every-time the car stopped or become idle. But it becomes normal once the car started to move. SC couldn't solve the problem till today. Its becoming non reliable car for me now onwards. OD 92000KM, 3 years old.

Your head changed dy?...we did one on Peugeot 408t that the temperature are inconsistent and keep shooting up during idle.owner warranty over,opt for potong/skim the head.problem solved .

Extanded warranty suddenly refuse a lots of claims, be careful your service record, they a bits crazy now.

To be safe :

Please service your car on time on every 6 months / 10,000km whichever come 1st. +/- 500km or 14 days tolerance only.

+1. The tolerance is really narrow. Fingers crossed mine get approved.

The insurance are not making any money with so much warranty claim.When the economy is slow, the insurance will find ways to cut costs. The insurance currently will try to negotiate with Nasim regarding the covered warranty part

Not every car gets the same part enhancement. I just check with one of the SC. They say my car only temperature sensor. Apparently they key in your car registration and from the system they will tell you which part the will enhance.

So does that mean my water pump and other parts are ok? I thought if enhance, means all car get the same parts since production of the car is same mah....

Can some one verify?

maybe they already know which batch having what problem .. so only change defected part ..
if change all the car which is not defected might costly for them ..
something like honda / toyota / etc call back for car made from which year - which year ..
example ..

Previously Temp Sensor issue solve by adding additional sensor by SC....

1-recall HDR : replace solenoid oil pump (Looks like new problem)
3-recall HDS 408 : check timing chain( EP6CDTM still having Timing chain issue? )
4-recall HBV 408 : replace electric pump(Looks like new problem)

Well....I also have no idea what is going on. The SC just told me that they check in system, my car only getting the temperature sensor as part of the enhancement program. They didnt say any other items.

So does that mean my pumps and timing chain no issue? I dont get how does it work

May I know which engine, 2.0 or 1.6T are more efficient and reliable? Do share some maintenance cost for both of this engine. Thank you for your time on answering it.

I wanna do compressor replacement (post warranty) but so hard to get appointment. Any of sifus here got contact in any Klang Valley SC? preferably Shah Alam. Or is it because I call they say no slot? just walk in will do?

Parts are outsourced and manufactured by vendors. Peugeot has identified the list of faulty parts and they would have also identified the manufactured batches. From here they able to track the assembled vehicles. It is very likely that your model was assembled with only one part from this faulty batch. It does mean your pump and trimming chain have no issues.

To me this is good news. It means these are not inherent problems with 408t.These defects are not design problems but rather qc! QC has identified bad batch. Hence not all 408t are affected, and the affected ones will be fixed. It further enhances the reliability of this model.

2L & 1.6THP engines have evolved over the years. All bugs are fixed and both are now reliable. They do differ in efficiency and maintenance cost.

1.6THP is more efficient.
2L NA has lower maintenance cost.

Normal service may not differ much in cost. However major service(60kkm) on 1.6THP came to $3k+. I don't know cost of major service on 2L NA, but it will be appreciably less.

My 2cents worth:
The 408NA is a comfortable & reliable car.
408t cost $18k more, but advanced technology & additional safety equipment in this car, in reality is worth $70k-$80k more. That makes it a closed eye bargain IMO!
