did anyone bypass their egr valve ?
one of my friend added a oil catch tank, but he said its not effective because after long time the tank still empty.
The THP engine has 2 PCV route/hose. 1 is behind the the engine (which goes back to throttle) and 1 is from valve cover to the turbo. When there is boost, the back hose/route will be close off and all your bypass gas will travel through the front route (valve cover to turbo). When there is no boost, which is also majority of our driving style as we dont tekan all the time, the bypass gas will travel through the rear hose to the throttle.
OCC is install through at the front route (valve cover to turbo). I am not sure why you friend's OCC is empty. But it could be because never tekan often. I am not talking about 1 day tekan 2-3 times. I am talking about really aggressive driving where boost is always on and high rev all the time. Because, that is the only time where the engine will route the bypass gas through the front PCV, in this case, where the OCC is connected.
But i was also told by a very experience pug owner that it is not advisable to bypass or delete your PCV or put a OCC. Because the bypass gas to the turbo when you are boosting also serves as a form of extra lubrication and coolant to the turbo when it is on load.
Hope this sharing of info helps.
