It is a very new course, only entering it's third trimester iirc so there is no alumni or much info being discussed about it. I did some searching and this is what I can share. It is a course that is specially tailored for the route of Bachelor of Communication (Hons.) (Strategic Communication) in MMU. Hence, I am not sure if you can enter IPTA with the foundation cert; you may need to check with the various IPTA whether they recognize the cert or not.

I have no comment on the cost as it's subjective. Have a look at the fee structure and then measure it's affordability within your means. Living cost is ok but Cyberjaya is Cyberjaya. As posted above, there are scholarships awarded for students with high pointers.

My suggestion is, to know what career that you want to pursue. It appears that you are really keen with this course, so I guess you are already aware that this leads to career prospects like: Career Prospects: Corporate Communication Professional, Media Writer, Advertising and Sales Promotion Executive,
Strategic Communication Programme Personnel, Corporate Communication Officer, Public Information Officer, Media
Broadcaster, Communication Adviser, Public Relations Personnel, Publicity Consultant.

I would suggest you to come to MMU during its open day on 23-24 June to get a feel of the campus and speak to the academic advisors.

Try to contact the person below for further info or to see if she can point you to the correct person in charge:

Ms. Wei Hui Suan
Deputy Dean
FACULTY OF APPLIED COMMUNICATION (FAC)
Multimedia University, Persiaran Multimedia

Hello, I didn't expect you to reply my message so fast. I really appreciate it!

I'm not 100% sure what career I want to pursue but what I know is that I have a high interest in the study of language. My first choice in UPU was Dip in English Prof. Comm. but I got Script Writing. I thought maybe I should just go with the flow and not be picky because time is of the essence here but after doing much research, the offered programme is mostly taught in BM (screenplays esp). That's the most frustrating thing plus it's for 2.5 years.

Rather than waiting again to apply for the next Sem of Dip in EPC which is next year in March, I made the decision to just take any IPTS foundation or diploma that's related to English (affordable ones). And then after my foundation studies, I'll try applying for an English degree in any IPTA. That's my plan really and I'm not even sure.

But, after reading your post I still have a lot more work to do it seems. I'll be sure to contact the various IPTA. I just realized that it's important, thanks. I do hope that it's recognized though. And ty too for the contact info.

Since you intend to continue at IPTA, so it is critical to be 100% sure that they accept the cert. Do share your findings.

Good luck!

Another thing that I'm not sure that I should worried about or not. Recently at MMU Confession Page, there's some debate about SRC. Will it have some effect when I study there or I'm just being paranoid here?

If possible can someone who know about the situation give TLDR about it? Thanks.

Ignore SRC

I wonder if it is possible to swap tuto class into tutorial section that is full in camsys with manual registration? Anyone managed to successfully register into a full class before?
*
Can be done with manual registration with the subject coordinator’s approval

Beta. 7 degree students in total. Although, Foundation in Engineering program has quite a lot of students. Is this the first time that MMU had such a low engineering student record?
*
Yeah, 1st time. Welcome to MMU by the way. What course are you doing?

Thanks, doing Electronics majoring in Computer.
Wow! Do you know why there's such a low number of students?
*
- more people entering ipta
- more ipts offering engineering courses
- less people want to do engineering

It's kinda hard to get friends especially for introvert person like me 😅😅. Everytime I stop for a moment and sit on a chair around the campus, literally everyone at least walk to classes or other places in the campus with their buddies.

Even worse, I could not even find a single friend from my faculty. It's not that I don't want to talk to them, it's just that it's overwhelm me everytime I see them with somebody they know. I've heard that you cannot survive college life if you don't have friends.

To the senior who basically went through the same situation as me, how do you cope with it? I'm thinking of joining club but I don't know when it open for registration. Does being in the club gives you some extra pointer or is it just for fun one?
*
Club registration is open in week 2 or 3, cant really recall. No extra pointers.

Don't force it, start with your course mates. Find a common interest. Which campus? Guy or girl?

Can someone give some explanation about GPA/CGPA grading systems for MMU? So far, what I know about this grading systems is that since I'm currently a freshman (Diploma in IT), after the 1st semester ended the GPA I got will be the CGPA. I've asked my lecturer about it, she said that the CGPA that I got in the 1st semester will basically be the CGPA that I will graduate with  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif. Does that mean that the GPA that I got after the 1st semester doesn't matter at all?

My target before enrolling into MMU is to graduate with 3.70 & above CGPA. What advise and tips you guys can give in order to achieve that kind of CGPA? Do you really need to get excellence results for all the subjects taken for all semesters in order to get such pointer? Does the systems punish you if you failed or get lower grading for 1 or 2 subjects overall? Your answers really help me alot  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

doh.gif at the bolded part.

As pointed out, refer to the handbook. If still cannot understand, ask here again

err i dont think it's good to talk about too detail here, the main issues is
1. over 90% of the students cant understand the lecture.. i been first class since diploma until degree, and this is the first time i get blank understanding on what is the lecture about.
There was a case where almost entire class can't understand the concept for 1 hour and I go home google then understood in 5 minutes.
2. assignment guideline unclear and keeps changing. this is the first time too, getting 'stranger emails and whatsapp (our classmates, you know we don't make friends with the entire class)' to ask about the assignment which never happened to me before.
3. sometimes really mean to students.. if there is a student that is offensive in class who doesn't care about cgpa will surely confront.

I was thinking to drop this subject on week 3, which is late anyway, but i try to getting used to it. Now i'm in trouble. the lecturer somewhat nice when talking one to one but I can't understand the content. I met my academic advisor and my advisor said that if no one understand but i managed to understand myself I will be in big advantage.
*
Okay my advice. Don't wait for academic evaluation, it will be too late to do anything for your grade in the subject. Speak to the lecturer and let him or her know that the majority of the class is facing difficulties in the subject. If the assignment guidelines are unclear, then make this known as well.
